Jack Quinn, JJ Peterka ready to learn through 'ups and downs' with Sabres

'“We know their potential skill,” Granato said. “We know they're (talented) and, like I said, they compete, they're dedicated to improvement. If they weren't, they wouldn't be here because they need to improve. They need to get better, they need to acclimate to size, strength, speed of NHL players. They're behind right now and it's going to take them a bit, but we know their … [Read more...] about Jack Quinn, JJ Peterka ready to learn through ‘ups and downs’ with Sabres

Unsatisified by fine finish, Sabres strive to reach another level in 2022-23

'“You know, no matter what we did, we want to win and win more,” Granato said. “And I've said it many times, if there's one thing I'm greedy about, it's wanting to win. I'll take more and more. … Things might look good, good things might look great, but don't we want better? I don't want to settle for good or great. I want better, better. So, that's easy. That's the mindset.”' … [Read more...] about Unsatisified by fine finish, Sabres strive to reach another level in 2022-23

Sabres Notebook: The roster is set as Pilut and Luukkonen head to Rochester

'Both Luukkonen and Pilut had good showings in training camp but were simply victims of numbers. Sabres' preseason clarified final roster, revealed notable breakout candidate

'Cozens had the remarkable training camp and preseason the Sabres expected of him. He attacked the middle of the ice, won puck battles and, most important, made his linemates better. This is a continuation of what we saw in the second half of last season. Though Cozens totaled only two goals after the All-Star break, he consistently generated scoring chances. At the IIHF World … [Read more...] about Sabres’ preseason clarified final roster, revealed notable breakout candidate

Observations: Eric Comrie receives little help in Sabres' preseason finale

'It was that kind of night for Comrie and his teammates. That the game didn’t count against the standings was the only solace the Sabres could take from their exhibition finale.
