Sabres notebook: Connor Clifton opens camp next to Rasmus Dahlin

'“Well, I thought Clifton and Dahlin were very impressive out there,” said Granato. “Impressive in the sense they both read the play the same together. One is moving off the other and it showed the experience, obviously, of Connor to mesh so quickly in a practice. That’s a luxury to have based on where we were bringing guys along last season.”' … [Read more...] about Sabres notebook: Connor Clifton opens camp next to Rasmus Dahlin

Observations: Matt Savoie's injury might hurt prospect's bid to make Sabres' roster

'Not only did Savoie suffer what Rochester Americans coach Seth Appert referred to as an upper-body injury, but the 5-foot-9 center might not be on the ice at the start of NHL training camp Thursday in Buffalo. "I don’t have a medical update yet, other than it’s upper body and he’s gonna get reevaluated here in the next day – tonight, tomorrow," said Appert. Filip Cederqvist persevered through brutal year to become key Sabres prospect

'The breakthrough for Cederqvist began in 2020-21, when he produced nine goals and 36 points in 51 games with Tingsryds AIF in HockeyAllsvenskan, and it earned him a full-time role with Djurgardens IF in the SHL the following season. Mike Harrington: Jiri Kulich's evolution might be most pressing item to watch at Sabres prospect games

'But as the 50th anniversary of the Tsujimoto selection approaches, the Sabres can do the right, hilarious and historic thing.
