Pominville sends Sabres to 2-1 OT win in Tampa Bay

Source: WGR-AM

‘The Sabres finally solved Vasilevskiy at 11:47 of the 3rd on Rodrigues’ 6th goal of the season. Rodrigues kept the puck in the zone, maneuvered around Andrej Sustr and flicked a shot just inside the post, tying the game 1-1. Pominville’s winner came 1:26 into overtime, a power play goal made possible by Adam Erne’s illegal hit to the head on Johan Larsson late in regulation. The man advantage carried over to the extra frame and Pominville cashed in, sending a one-time chance past Vasilevskiy for the 2-1 win. Tampa Bay argued goaltender interference (Vasilevskiy was actually hit with a 10 minute misconduct for throwing the stick following the goal), but to no avail.’
