Ducks are latest to call the shots against Sabres

‘The Ducks finished with a 44-26 shot advantage and a 67-40 lead in attempts.’

Sabres GM Murray: Eichel’s emotion is a good thing

‘”He’s an emotional young guy that has a great desire to win,” Murray said during his weekly interview on WGR Radio. “We like when our fans are emotional and we completely 100 percent respect the right of the fans who have paid for tickets to boo us off the ice. They’re there. They’re in control of the emotional state of the arena and I wholeheartedly believe that and agree with it.’

Mike Harrington: Sabres have sell-high dilemma with Kane

‘But with the Sabres trying to win and get out of the spin cycle of rebuilding, do you go forward with Kane as a core guy? Or do you try to sell high to get a top-four defenseman as you approach the trade deadline because the playoffs are a longshot?’

Sabres Notebook: Ristolainen breaks scoring drought

‘”I think as a D-man I’ve been struggling this year goal scoring,” Ristolainen said. “I don’t think you can score too many goals as a D-man so obviously it felt pretty good. It’s been a while but hopefully I can keep it going and somehow get more goals and try to help the team win.”‘

Quick hits: Ducks 5, Sabres 2

‘Unlike the Sharks, who suffered a 5-4 overtime loss, the Ducks stayed in control and outshot Buffalo, 44-26. It was the Sabres’ first regulation loss in KeyBank Center in eight games, ending a 6-0-1 run.’

Sabres implode late, lose to Ducks

‘“We had the game right there 1-1,” Sabres goalie Robin Lehner said. “It’s disappointing.”’

Derek Grant happy back with Sabres

‘“Getting put on waivers (stinks),” Grant said. “When you get claimed, it’s a good feeling in the sense that I know I’m an NHL player and obviously someone else felt that.”’

Corey Perry scores twice in Ducks’ 5-2 win over Sabres

‘”We can’t expect to climb back and make a hell of a comeback all the time,” said Sabres goalie Robin Lehner, who stopped 39 shots. “In the end, 14-3 (shots against) and it’s 4-1 in a 1-1 game. We can twist the facts as much as we want, it’s just not good enough.”‘

Perry scores two as Ducks drop Sabres

‘”I thought the speed of the Ducks was evident,” Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said.’
