Sabres' Bailey looks solid in loss to Bruins

'Buffalo gave up three goals in the first but finally got a goal from Justin Bailey just minutes into the second period. The Bruins responded later in the second period making it 4-1. That remained the score until the final minutes of the third when Sabres 2016 first round pick Alexander Nylander scored the Sabres second goal on the power-play. Nylander’s goal was followed by … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Bailey looks solid in loss to Bruins

Sabres Top 20 Talents in 2016: No. 15 - D Brendan Guhle

'The jump to the National Hockey League for a 19-year-old defenseman might be a little unrealistic, but Guhle has talent. This year Guhle looks bigger and stronger than he did last season and more responsible in his own end. While the improvements are noticeable, another year in juniors could do a lot for the development of Guhle -- but his fate won’t be determined until … [Read more...] about Sabres Top 20 Talents in 2016: No. 15 – D Brendan Guhle

Sabres' Bailey, Baptiste putting hard lessons to good use

'It will take more than offense for Bailey and Baptiste to make the leap from Rochester to Buffalo, and the wingers know it. They learned hard lessons last year during slow starts to their professional careers, but both caught on and saw where they needed to improve. They showed it during the weekend with all-around games and detailed practices.' … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Bailey, Baptiste putting hard lessons to good use

Sabres' Nylander ready to rebound after poor debut

'“We have to remember he’s nervous, too,” Lambert said. “He’s got a lot of pressure, and he knows he can play better. I think that’s the main thing. As soon you ask him the question, ‘How do you think you were last night?’ the answer wasn’t, ‘Oh, I thought I was great.’' … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Nylander ready to rebound after poor debut

Sabres goalie prospect Linus Ullmark feeling fresh again

'“After you’ve done six months of rehab, it’s hard to come into camp with one month of really good practices,” he said. “You want to have, like I have now, five months of hard practice and off-ice sessions.”' … [Read more...] about Sabres goalie prospect Linus Ullmark feeling fresh again

Jack Eichel, normally booed lustily in Canada, now ‘united as one’ with longtime foes at World Cup

'“For the most part, I’ve never really been received well in Canada,” said Eichel. “It’s the same (for Canadians) in America. You know they’re rooting for their home country. To join nations here and play as one, I imagine the crowd will receive us pretty well."' … [Read more...] about Jack Eichel, normally booed lustily in Canada, now ‘united as one’ with longtime foes at World Cup

Sabres' Baptiste is on a mission

'For much of the game Baptiste played with Brandon Hagel and Vasily Glotov. Hagel seemed to mesh with Baptiste very well and was a real good worker along the walls. On the other hand, Glotov struggled a lot trying to do too much on his own.' … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Baptiste is on a mission

Sabres' prospect tournament is ideal head start for Amerks

Cornel wants to seize key spot in Sabres' organization

'“I want to prove I belong at the pro level this year and that I can be a big part of it,” he said in HarborCenter. “I want to go in there and help win games. I think that’s one of the first things you can do as a young guy. You may not be on the score sheet every night, but if you’re helping out in wins then that goes a long way.' … [Read more...] about Cornel wants to seize key spot in Sabres’ organization

Sabres' Nylander is ready to show his stuff

'If we go by what we’ve seen when Nylander has played against kids around his own age, I think we’d say he has a really good chance to make the Sabres. Reality is he hasn’t gone up against the top players, but he still thinks he has a chance, “I practiced for a little bit with the NHL guys before this rookie tournament, so I’ve met a couple of them, so I’ll see when I get … [Read more...] about Sabres’ Nylander is ready to show his stuff
