Hurricanes Stomp Sabres 5-2

Source: WGR-AM

‘Nicolas Deslauriers and Tyson Strachan took back-to-back penalties later in the period, leading to a Hurricanes 5-on-3 and an onslaught of Carolina goals. Jiri Tlusty got the scoring started with two seconds remaining in the 5-on-3 power play with a shot that trickled between Enroth’s pads. Eric Staal made it 3-1 only 53 seconds later, banking a shot off Mike Weber’s skate and into the net. Moments later, Ron Hainsey’s shot deflected off Victor Rask, giving the Hurricanes a 4-1 lead.’
