Sabres rally to defeat Bruins 3-2

'The intensity of the game really kicked up in the third period. At one point Daniel Briere got his stick on Thomas' neck and ended up taking off his goalie helmet. This obviously infuriated the Bruins who began to chip at Briere for the rest of the game, doubtless #48 will be on the minds of all the Bruins when the teams play again on Sunday.' … [Read more...] about Sabres rally to defeat Bruins 3-2

Regier should mess with Sabres' success

'Look, I understand the importance of chemistry. But adding the right player, a tough, selfless veteran with playoff experience, could enhance the Sabres' chemistry. When a team is on a roll, players often look for a sign from above, an acknowledgment that management believes they can make a title run.' … [Read more...] about Regier should mess with Sabres’ success

Vanek takes rookie goal mark in stride

'"It's nice to hit 20, but it's not something I was going into the season wanting to have 20 and it would be a great season for me," Vanek said. "I'm going to assess it after the year. Hopefully, I can get a few more and get up in the high 20s. But like I said, right now it doesn't mean much. It was a good victory."' … [Read more...] about Vanek takes rookie goal mark in stride

Sabres dominate Bruins, stay on a record pace

'"I thought we played a lot more determined game for three periods," said coach Lindy Ruff. "We had the better opportunities for most of the night, and you have to give their goaltender a lot of credit. He made some key saves on odd-numbered situations and on a couple breakaways when we really could have put the game away. We were a lot sharper in our own zone, limited their … [Read more...] about Sabres dominate Bruins, stay on a record pace

Buffalo 3, Boston 2

'"There were times when we lost momentum killing penalties," Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said.
