This Day in Sabres History :: May 30

Recommended Posts

May 30, 1998

At Marine Midland Arena, Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, with the Capitals leading two games to one, is scoreless early in the third period when Craig Berube scores on a wing and a prayer off a faceoff. Later, Joey Juneau sends a lob and a best wish off the glove of Dominik Hasek from outside the blue line. The Capitals win 2-0, Olaf Kolzig stopping all 30 Sabre shots, some of the saves coming in spectacular fashion. "I think we got to him," says Washington head prick Ron Wilson.
