shrader Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 The YouTube tv thread got me wondering about this. I’ve always assumed that the vast majority here are in-market, but why not get some numbers. Hopefully we get a good response rate on this one. Quote
Doohickie Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 (edited) I'm in the Dallas market. And I think a lot of us are away from the Buffalo area. This forum is a good opportunity for people who don't live in Buffalo to talk about the Sabres. There are some Dallas fans at work, a couple of Penguin fans, a Broons fan, maybe one or two others supporting other teams. If I want to talk Sabres this is one of the few places I can do so. Taro T Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 As currently defined and practiced, am in the Sabres market. Said it that way specifically because we're also in the Bills market but when it comes to games being primarily delivered on streaming services, we are NOT in the Bills market and don't get the feed doubled on an OTA channel like happens for those in the Erie County and immediately surrounding areas. Carmel Corn Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Out of market. NHL Center Ice is my friend!!! 1 Quote
oddoublee Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Cleveland. I have a few sabres fans here...but this place provides other fans perspectives I don't get from when I lived in wny Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 (edited) I'm in NH. Firmly in Bruins country. 5 minutes ago, oddoublee said: Cleveland. muppy Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I am in socal hence the games the Sabres play Anaheim or LA I am blacked out I dialed in to Sabres after buying a Disney-Hulu_ESPN + subscription. To me that is Golden. Great access for the most part GO SABRES Quote
French Collection Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Leafs nation but I get Habs games on French language TV. I always purchase the Sportsnet package so I basically get every NHL game. Quote

It's kind of crazy; you have buffalo, Pittsburgh and detroit....all love hockey. Right in the middle is Cleveland, and as a whole, they care less about the sport. If they do show interest in the jackets, it's usually shallow and precipitated by a kid of theirs playing youth hockey. 1 Quote
repster Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Wish I knew. Still not clear if Sabres will be on FUBO or DAZN in the Niagara region of southern Ontario. It’s not being advertised by FUBO or DAZN in Canada, nor made newly clear by the Sabres like it was before, so it might have to be back to NHLCI which is less expensive than Sportsnet + premium. Of course, there are the free options, but those could be less reliable. Quote

I knew there'd be some borderline scenarios. Quote
stenbaro Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I live in the Town of Tonawanda. I get to 10 games a year. My son's and I try and watch the weekend games together, other than that I post or lurk around here for my sabres talk. Can't stand GR 55 as almost every time I turn them on its either in a commercial or some host is going on about his plans with the family. Or some wild bet they think I'd cool Quote

The Cleveland Monsters led the AHL in attendance last year with an average over 11,500. If they had an NHL team they would support it. I’m in the Syracuse area which is in the Sabres tv market. All their games on MSG are shown, even if the Rangers, Devils, or Islanders are playing at the same time. Quote
_Q_ Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Amish country here in SE PA. Haven't been in the B-LO market for over 40 years. But we have 4 Bills/Sabres fans in the house and my boy wore his Sabres shirt to school today! 1 1 Quote
Dr. Who Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I live near Athens, Georgia. If I go out wearing Sabres' gear, sometimes I get a "Go Bills." 2 Quote
Rip Titwide Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I'm in the NYC market. Center Ice works for me until my Sabres play ANY of the 3 metro teams which has infuriated me at times in the past. Say what you will about Dan and Rob, but good or bad the familiarity of the Sabres broadcast to me just hits different when I watch a game. Listening to Sam Rosen, Ken Daneyko, Butch Goring, or whomever bloviate about our opponent just grinds my gears. Quote
JustOneParade Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Western Massachusetts for me. Also considered to be in the Boston market so Sabres / Bruins games are blacked out (don’t get NESN). Quote
Jävə Keith Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 (edited) Born in Buffalo, raised in Springville (Go Griffins!). Post-college followed work/career all over from London to LA. I eventually settled in Annapolis, Maryland for about 30 years. Got married, had all 4 of my kids there, raised them all to be Sabres/Bills fans as they grew up as part of the diasporate (RJ was a sacred voice in our household). Had to learn how to creatively watch/listen to every Sabres game during most of those years over the interwebs. 2021 finally moved back here to WNY (Chautauqua Lake) and now have an even greater appreciation for what makes this area/community so special realizing how much I took for granted growing up. Lord-willing I'm finally home for good. Took my nearly adult son to his first Sabres game which was also happened to be the historic RJ Night! Now I can have the "luxury" of watching every game on MSG (first cable, now FUBO) l am forced to find TNT-only games by paying extra for HBOMax. This SabresSpace Community was my lifeline living away from here all those years and I am so grateful for all of you, wherever you may be across the globe. SabreSpace cheers! Sabres73 Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Nope, Vancouver area, currently in Saskatoon visiting, which doesn’t help. Hoping to take in a Blades game while I’m here. 1 Quote

Doesn't change the fact that when the league decided to return to OH, they did NOT go back to Cleveland; which had had the Barons before the Barons and a few different permutations of the Monsters since. The city had a rich minor hockey tradition. C-bus, not so much. Burn us once, shame on ... Quote
ubkev Posted October 2 Report Posted October 2 I'm in the Flyers/Rangers/Penguins/Islanders/Devils market.... anyways, ESPN+ usually works. Quote
