SabresBaltimore Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Not sure why the title says ESPN. It will be on ESPN+ for our of market folks, but it's not on nationally. In market folks: CBJNHL, CBJHN, MSG-B Not sure why Columbus has/needs 2 RSNs Go Sabres! So excited for hockey to be back. 3 Quote
Taro T Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Presumably at least one of Zellweger or Samuelsson will be good to go. D gets scary if neither are available. Guess they'd need to call up Johnson or Gilbert in that case as there are only 8 D on the roster and 3 would be unavailable. Expecting UPL gets the start. Would prefer it go to Ellis. Go get 'em boys. Take this one and they're 2 points closer to 101 (or better yet, 168 😉 ). 1 1 Quote
Phil Goyette Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I'll be at the "real" opener on Saturday. I was at the Pittsburgh game last Saturday night, and it didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about the season. Yes, it was preseason. Yes, we had some Rochesterians playing. However, it wasn't the kids who couldn't find a shooting lane. (It was our superstar) It wasn't the kids who let the puck get by them on the blue line. (It was our captain) I'm hoping for a good showing tonight and Saturday. I would be nice to get off to a quick start for once. But I'm not holding my breath. Quote

LGR4GM Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I worry about this season. This team is young and lacks experience. I hope Dahlin is able to pull his captain voodoo again. He and Tage literally dragged this team from the abyss. Also, I think Crevier will fit in nicely but it might take a month. 1 Quote

Lasts years big winning streak is not something that teams easily repeat. The FO may have tried for bigger moves, but they did the minimum by acquiring what they did. Counting on so many young players to step up seems so Adams-like. But on the other side they have a taste of winning and the Core is back. 4 1 1 Quote
LETSTUCHINGO Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I'm fired up to see the young kids, I think they are ALL ready for the big stage! This team takes another step in strengthening it's reputation as a formidable, year in and year out power house!! Bang zoom, GO SABRES!!! Quote

I think this team should be much more mentally prepared for what’s needed to make the playoffs and how necessary it is to win early so you don’t have to scramble. The old core thought multiple times it knew what it meant to be a playoff team and they fell on their face each time. Now everyone knows. 2 2 Quote
