I totally forgot that YouTube and ESPN agreed to a deal early this year that includes ESPN unlimited. That means out of market hockey for every YouTube TV subscriber without the need for a ESPN + subscription.

I'm a YouTube TV subscriber. But I'm also an ESPN+ subscriber. I just assumed I was seeing games on YTTV that I'm already getting on ESPN+.

Save yourself the money right now and drop that extra account. I axed mine last week.

Nah, I like ESPN+ for UB sports, Bandits, all kinds of stuff. I bought it in a bundle that includes Disney and Hulu years ago only pay $13/mo for the 3.

I had the same bundle and cut espn out of it. It’s a lower price. Everything in espn+ is included with YouTube tv now.

This is awesome news. Yesterday I was looking at YouTube TV as a replacement for my Hulu bundle (which just raised  it’s price over 15%) and figured I’d need a separate subscription to get ESPN+.

Thank you gents!

* The Hulu bundle with live TV is now over $100 per month. Nuts.

Well this is annoying. I was justifying my Disney+ bundle with watching the Sabres.  At least I still have Alien: Earth on Hulu.

You can at least save a couple bucks by switching to the Disney/Hulu bundle.  Don't you have a somewhat young kid who can get some use out of the Disney half?

Yeah Disney is great for movie night. I’ll still keep it. Probably the whole package.

Keep in mind its only out of market people who get the games. I believe you're still in market.. in the same market as me where we get boned on that option.

Do you can keep your package anyway...

I got done writing this and realized what I typed and who I was replying to... and I'm not going to edit anything. 🙂

so, if i have youtube.tv (I watch all the footballs games on it), I'll have access to all Sabres games too?

Yes.  You get all of the games EXCEPT the NHL Network games, or any blacked out games due to regional broadcasts in certain regions (such as the Southwest, where many Utah, Vegas, and Colorado games are blacked out).  To be clear, this is for out of market folks.  Not sure how it works in WNY.

And for the person above who wanted to keep his ESPN+ account separately - there's no need.  You link up your YTTV to the ESPN+ app and get all the same content at no extra cost, including WITHIN the ESPN+ app.  If you're already getting it as part of a bundle, it might not matter, but it might reduce your bundle price a little bit to drop ESPN+ out of the bundle.

Finally, and this is huge for me and I'm sure for others - while watching the ESPN+ NHL games in the YTTV interface, it APPEARS SO FAR that you can fast-forward through the commercials, if you're watching a recorded game on the DVR/delay.  Last season, while watching on the ESPN+ app, you were forced to sit through every single commercial.  They usually played the same commercial over and over for the entire game (most commonly the Discover Card commercials featuring Stiffler's mom).  This is not hyperbole.  They literally showed the SAME commercial 10-15 times per game and you could not fast forward through it.  It's a total mind F&*k and wastes huge chunks of time.  Self-harm was contemplated.  I THINK this is now gone, if watching through the YTTV interface!  It worked for the preseason games, so here's hoping that it works the same during the regular season.  I will find out tomorrow night!

I downloaded the DAZN app which unfortunately is named Da Zone. Like are we 13 years old? Gonna watch the Sabres tonight? Bet, no cap. Or something like that. Ugh.

But the app worked great for the preseason. Hope it stays that way.

It was originally targeted at boxing fans..  hope it works well. I still have Spectrum right now because of all the streaming add-ons.. and the Sabres.  If I was out of market I would have jumped already... to what I don't know.

It’s supposed to be Da Zone? I’ve been saying Dah-zyn since I first saw it years ago. Stupid name

I was under the same impression until I heard them advertise the app. Woof.

Thx for the info.  I was surprised when the UB football game on ESPN+ popped up on my YouTube tv.

For in market ppl, what's the deal with the new msg app? There's a season subscription or something now?

29.99 per month, 19.99 first month. I didn't immediately see a season or annual rate. I did see a whopper: "get every game on MSG+ live."

Is it $29.99 now?  When the change was announced I received an email indicating price would be $39.99, and thought, nope not this time.

Last season you could share passwords and my son and I split it.  Supposedly that went away this year.

How much do you get with that service?  The price seems crazy.  ESPN plus is around $14 a month if not bundled and I can't imagine MSG has even close to the same amount of programming.
