DarthEbriate Posted September 29 Report Posted September 29 And now we hope that the forwards stay healthy all season and never speak of him in a Sabres uniform again. 1 1 Quote

msw2112 Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 (edited) I don't understand the hatred for Sheary. He's a bottom-of-the-roster player. He's got a lot of NHL experience and can fill in for a couple of games in the event of a slew of injures. He'll be a good veteran presence for the kids in Rochester. I feel the same way about most of the 8-9 defensemen and 13-15 forwards (guys like Bryson [now with Detroit? Was waived, but then played against the Sabres in preseason?], Dunne, Kozak, etc.). Not every player can be an all-star and rosters need injury replacements. If Sheary is in your top-6, then you've got a problem, but in that case, the problem is the not the player, it's the team. Sometimes it's better to have an injury replacement player be an experienced NHL veteran vs. a developing kid. The kid has a higher ceiling, but the veteran has a higher floor and can come in and play a role with likely fewer mistakes. The moment won't be too big for them. I have never liked the way he plays hockey. In his prime he had the skillset to be a middle six winger. He is now a depth piece who will fill in as a bottom six player at the NHL level. I like those guys tough and gritty. He is puny and soft. He should provide value to Rochester. 1 1 Quote
