Porous Five Hole Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 Amazing how many people in the NO vote are also many of the loudest complainers during the game day threads. Maybe it is pessimism by nature? Or maybe I’m just too optimistic for my own good? 1 Quote

Maybe it is pessimism by nature? Or maybe I’m just too optimistic for my own good? Its not amazing at all, and its not pessimism by nature. If someone thinks they aren't good enough to make the playoffs, it would make sense the REASON they have that opinion is they are seeing things they think aren't all that good from the team. Someone who only sees the good plays might be likely to think the team is better than they are. Someone who notices mistakes and bad plays will both point them out on the forum and take that into their consideration of how good they think the team is. Its observation, not pessimism by nature. 1 Quote
CTJoe Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I'm worried mostly about our goaltending, which oddly wasn't a survey question? If we traded for Hellebuyck I think we'd have a 90% chance of making the playoffs (10% not making would be due to a bad Hellebuyck injury). With our 3 headed monster at goaltending. combined with an overly reliance on youngsters, I think we're at 60% of making the playoffs Quote

I would have put you as an outlier to my observation. You must not spend much time in GDTs either. Quote

Phil Goyette Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Squeak into the playoffs, probably by Wild Card? Yes. End up one overtime goal from the final four? Not a chance. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 I wish they had another 2k nhl games of experience on this roster. 1 Quote

That Aud Smell Posted Thursday at 02:52 PM Report Posted Thursday at 02:52 PM Yes. Yes. Yes. That first "yes" is really just vibes and hope. I think they'll do well to get into the high 90s. With 84 games, I don't know where the cutoff line will be for the WC. Quote

Pessimism is just expecting the worst to occur (also not statistically likely). I'm dialed in on realism. What's realistically likely to happen? I'll take better than that and I'll deal with worse than that. Not expecting them to make the playoffs is different than not wanting them to. (Also, at least with pessimism people can be pleasantly surprised). this was very thoughtful and I hear you. I'm just being real with the fact that I'm Proud to be from WNY and rep their teams to the fullest. I just joined sabrespace and am officially on board for whatever happens come what may though As a lifelong Bills fans I like all of you have yet to experience a championship in either of those sports. I'm getting OLD I want greatness and until proven otherwise I'm sticking to its this year. So I get to see it. selfishly so GO SABRES 1 Quote

I know it's one game but make a GDFkng save. I bet Buffalo had a 2 to 1 high danger scoring chance ratio tonight. Quote
zow2 Posted Friday at 02:33 AM Report Posted Friday at 02:33 AM No, i predicted about 94 points and missing it. Florida will take our spot, and we’d need serious regression from someone else like Boston or Ottawa to reclaim it. 1 Quote
