(1) Ellis looked goof, and IMHO he's the only goalie of intrigue on the roster; (2) Östlund has looked outstanding, (3) I think our new D have looked good: Crevier especially and Zellweger before the concussion, (4) I'll dream of Helly until he's traded elsewhere (SJ?). One think I don't understand is signing Grzelcyk instead of Stanley, unless Stanley still wants too much $ Its not all doom-and-gloom to look at the team we like and follow, and say both what we like and DON'T like about the game they play. For some of us, this isn't a 'Sabres cheerleading/never say anything bad about the team' board, its a discussion board. I personally think that if you really LIKE a team, you want to point about where they are deficient, talk about it, and hope the team addresses those areas. 2 Quote

Man he was BAD. Maybe you can write that off to new guy, new communication, new system, but idk, he was just dreadful and that pairing with Timmins is big big trouble. UPL worries me. He's not any better and despite his weird style Ellis has been the best goalie. Not good enough. Not doing the Helleybuck trade might turn out to be a big mistake. Overall bad effort with horrible net front D. Just an overall bad effort all over for a supposed main roster. I'm starting to get a little worried and find myself getting Lindy in NJ vibes. I get it is pre-season, but man this takeaway is just getting much too much mileage for this team. Despite their successes last year, this team has not created enough distance between their past selves and their current success to be OK with this being a takeway from any outing from them. Quote

UPL, Kulich, and Samuelsson MIGHT be good to go as well. Even if UPL is good to go, would give Ellis that start and give UPL a couple extra days to heal up whatever it is he messed up. Zucker and Lyon are the only 2 pretty much definites to not be ready to go in C-Bus. I think Samuelsson sits but that is me. Quote

Considering they aren't at a point of desperation, would expect that as well. Wouldn't be at all surprised to only see Zellweger back with maybe UPL on the bench in a "break glass only in emergency" sort of back up role if they don't make a waiver claim on any other healthy goalie. But all except for Zucker and maybe Lyon should be back sooner than later. Quote
