PASabreFan Posted September 14 Report Posted September 14 Two days after Melrose, Parkinson's stole another one. Brent was a part of the Danny Gare trade to Detroit in 1981. Low scoring defensive forward who was known for faceoff prowess. And a pretty good mustache. He had the disease for over 20 years. He and his wife did a lot to help those who suffer from the disease. Brent wrote an autobiography aptly named, My Toughest Faceoff. 2 5 Quote
Eleven Posted September 14 Report Posted September 14 For those with loved ones battling this disease locally, Parkinson's Boxing on Colvin provides excellent therapy, diminishes symptoms, and often extends lifespans by years. 2 2 2 Quote

Taro T Posted September 14 Report Posted September 14 They went a looooong time without a guy that could consistently win faceoffs after they traded him away. Didn't realize he was battling Parkinson's. May he RIP. Condolences to his family. 1 Quote

Besides ROR, I have a hard time remembering another Sabre center in the last 40 years who was as good as Peterson at face-off win percentage. Somebody here with data may prove me wrong, but he seemed pretty good at % of winning his draws. Quote

Pimlach Posted September 15 Report Posted September 15 RIP Brent. I always remember him as the guy who took the role of Don Luce, even the same sweater number. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted September 15 Report Posted September 15 I remember when we traded for him as part of the Foligno/Gare trade. He was a solid grinder who fit well with the Sabres. I was surprised when we let him go. RIP. Parkinson’s is a terrible disease. My Mom had Louie body dementia which is a horrific mix of dementia with Parkinson’s. Hopefully someday they’ll find a cure. 1 1 Quote
PASabreFan Posted September 15 Author Report Posted September 15 Thumbs up for the cure wish. Sorry about your mom. I wish we could insert the emoji in a specific spot. Quote
stinky finger Posted September 15 Report Posted September 15 RIP Brent My condolences to those whose loved ones have suffered with this disease. Quote
nfreeman Posted September 16 Report Posted September 16 RIP. Peterson was a very good defensive forward and an elite faceoff man and he seemed like a good guy. Quote
