LGR4GM Posted September 9 Report Posted September 9 I would be curious to see how the Sabres due in this. They should have a huge advantage depending on which defenders are available. Rudolph, Kleber are probably not, but Mrtka, Strbak, McCarthy etc... are. 1 Quote

I was at one in person a few years back, against Ottawa I think. Maybe because we're just starved for Sabres hockey. I hope they do stream these. Supposedly the Sabres will play two in Boston next year. Probably at the Warrior Bruins practice rink near Allston. I'll definitely be there for that. Quote

Flashsabre Posted September 10 Report Posted September 10 The CHL-NCAA deal has really neutered these tournaments. Many of the top prospects are gone to college teams or overseas to their European leagues. Not a lot of top talent left to play in these games 1 Quote

None of the college guys will be there. Funny thing about organizational depth and drafting... Some guy named Eddy Doyle is the only left-shot defenseman on the roster. 1 Quote

dudacek Posted September 10 Report Posted September 10 Such an underwhelming lineup without the college guys. Lotta beef on that blue line. Notably absent is Tobias Leinonen. Not sure it’s an age thing with Komarov there. If that kid is nursing yet another injury… 2 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted September 11 Report Posted September 11 1 hour ago, Weave said: Thus far, Leinonen simply cannot stay healthy enough to show any progress. The last three seasons (including playoffs, national team play, everything) he's played 19, 31, and 15 games. Contrast that with a much lesser prospect based on draft round: Ratzlaff, a year younger: 52, 55, and 28 last season. (Neither was able to win a consistent net last season as the Sabres had their 5-headed goalie monster going into the season and Levi/Ellis stayed healthy at the AHL/NHL-level so no one got to fill in for a callup.) Yeah i just thought it was out of place. One practice will have Caden Dabrowski, Cohen Bidgood, Liam Valente... and the other Rasmus Dahlin, Josh Doan, Tage Thompson. lol Quote
LGR4GM Posted September 12 Report Posted September 12 Curious how mrtka does. That's my biggest concern still. 1 Quote

His rookie camp last year was excellent: showed a physical game that hadn’t been apparent elsewhere. I seem to recall some people talking him up as playing pro immediately. Baker was talking about this in yesterday’s pod: between the Sabres getting good and the Parayko trade reports, the fanbase stopped being invested in him. Sounds like he’s pencilled in for the Amerks in his D2 season. 2 Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted September 12 Author Report Posted September 12 It's confirmed both Prospect Challenge games will be streamed at Sabres.com. 3 Quote
