What? Virta was a better player than Richie Dunn or James Patrick (when he was here).

DENIED.  Hannu Virta never existed, actually.

I still have that album in a closet. In the early 70’s I thought it sounded like good music🤪

I moved on to Billy Sheehan and Talas

your just to young to remember him.  If not Hannu, what about Calle Johansson?

I'm one year younger than the team, and it's "you're."  DENIED.  It will be James Patrick.

Number 3 is a oddity.  Not much longevity with the players that wore it -  Robitaille was fun for a few years.  Dunn wore it the longest and was a good 3rd pair guy.  James Patrick was a very solid 6/7, by the time he became a Sabre his career was winding down.  Virta had a few good years and then left.

Dunn would be my vote.  Patrick was the better player but his best years were before Buffalo.

#2 can only be Tim Horton.

The only other player to wear #2 was Jim Watson, who was affectionately known as "Dumbo Jim" in my neighborhood street hockey games.

Virta played 245 games putting up for 126 points for the Sabres in a top 4 role until he went home.  Dunn played 325 games over 9 years as a spare part with only 132 points.  Patrick played the most, 345 games, but scored the least, 74 pts.

Garry Galley had the best season wearing 3 when he scored 54 pts in 95/96.

I want Dumbo Jim to be a band name now.
