Am I jet lagged or is that nearly 300% increase?

I wasn't sure myself, so I used an online % increase calculator that did tell me it was a 200% increase.

Honest question, I know Makar is good... Is he THAT good to be worth 20mil+. Would he be this good if he wasn't on a stacked Avs team? I know he's fast and shifty, I guess I just don't watch enough of him to actually know.

“Good” is a relative term. The AVs were willing to place this value on him, regardless.

Will be more than 9k as everything in the parks has gone up even more. We used to go to Disney frequently as inlaws in florida. Now it is 200 a day, for a sit down meal at least 80 a person and the lighting lane absurdity. Disney used to be a fun family trip where your kids wanted to take their kids. That generation of kids is non existent due to the prices. They will not be bringing their kids.

Agreed. There are lots of perks I didn't account for. Back in the day, Disney had a bus service to get you to and from the airport that was part of the package. That no longer exists. And the cost for certain individual rides is crazy.

You have to wonder...Avs got smoked in playoffs and clearly need more, so giving this money surely wlil hurt them cap-wise. More these contracts get handed out, the better our contracts look. 

   On another note, strange no one has signed big Stanley or Taresenko yet. Laine is still kicking around too as is my cousin's stepson Bunting.

He’s crazy, crazy good. He has a Calder trophy, two Norris trophies (finalist six consecutive times), a Staley Cup in which he won Conn Smyth(!), the is the fastest D to 200 points in league history, and the fastest to 100 playoff points in league history. 
 

He’s Bobby Orr generational. If he can sustain this pace, he will be on the NHL Defenseman all-time Mount Rushmore.

No idea why two people are disagreeing with me. The guy averages 88 pts a season and is a career plus-168 and he’s only 27. The Aves made him the richest contract in history because he deserves it.

He is great but he is not "Bobby Orr generational".   Orr won 8 straight Norris trophies and completely redefined the position.  The only thing that stopped him from winning more was knee surgeries in the 1970's era.   No one was like Orr in his generation, or even the next one.  The other top defensemen were all significantly behind him in production.  

Today you have Werenski, Hughes, Dahlin, and several more that play at or near the level of Maker, with guys like Hutson and Schaefer coming.

Agree not every great player is generational. Maybe that’s the reason people are disagreeing with me and that’s fine. But I sincerely believe it’s going to be Orr & Makar as 1 and 2 in blue line history.

Makar rates as #1 in the league right now, but there are several players similar to him in the league.  He may break all of Orr's records, somebody will, the game is so different now.  

Calling a player generational to me means no one in his generation is close to him for a sustained period of time and that player actually reshaped the game.

Undisputed, yes.  Is Makar that?  Almost certainly.

Bobby Orr is one of the four greatest NHL players ever.  Makar isn't in that conversation right now.

Maybe its a matter of semantics, but I don't put Makar in the 'generational' category. 

Generational to me has maybe 5 or 6 players in it over the last 50 years. Orr. Gretzky, Lemieux, Hasek...Players who truly, when they want to take over a game, are unstoppable.  When they are on, they win games, multiple games in a row, series, all by themselves. There are few other players in the league at their level when they are at their peek. I think Crosby, Ovechkin, and McDavid are very close, maybe even in that category, but I put them a step behind the first 4 I mentioned.  I know, this is all opinion, but it is mine.

After that "Generational" category there is a step down to the stars/superstars (no doubt hall of famers) like Brett Hull, McKinnon,  Mark Messier, Kucherov, Chris Pronger, and a few more.  These are Elite guys, maybe near or at the top of their positions, but having a few other peers that are at their level or close to them. To me Makar is here, as others have said Dahlin, Werenski, Hughes...they are very close in overall play to Makar IMO.

I do not put McKinnon and Kucherov in the same category as an Orr, Gretzky or Lemiuex...so to me they don't fit the definition of "generational" to me.  And I also don't put Makar above Kucherov or McKinnon. So if those guys aren't generational to me, and Makar isn't better/more valuable than the are, he isn't generational to me either.
