I know single game tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am to general public, but thinking it may be better economically to go ahead and buy a half season since I want to go to more games overall. It is 1.5 hour drive each way for me to get to Key Bank Center so I know that there will be games (especially weekday) that I can't logistically make it due to my work and family calendar. My question is how successful are you at reselling those tickets that you know ahead of time you cant get to? I know the resale fees can be horrible. Is it worth it to take the plunge for half season tickets and gamble on losing money on games I can't get to? What is the best way to manage reselling those tickets? Of course, a lot depends on the team play. 2 Quote
Taro T Posted July 21 Report Posted July 21 Like @tom webster says, how easy it is to sell the seats you can't use depends a lot on the game night, the opponent, and far more importantly on how the Sabres are playing. And don't overlook location in the rink as a factor for whether you can break even or not on a Tuesday evening against a Seattle. "Good" seats, regardless of level are way easier to sell than ones in locations that are perceived to be less desirable. 1 1 Quote

I have only ever taken a loss selling weeknight games (sometimes significant depending on weather and quality of the team). However, we would have also paid much more at the box office for weekend / prime games so I think its still worthwhile if you plan on going to several per year. The discount on merch and concessions is also nice. 1 Quote

If you have a 1.5 hour drive, can spend on a half-season, this is the way. I preferred mini-packs over ST. That way I was able to choose my dates/games and "upgrade" to 200 level seats easily, which is really the only way to see a Sabres game IMHO. You can choose game from Oct-Dec, then Mar-Apr and not worry about the weather, or if you'll have elbow/knee room (kind of). 1 Quote

Is it double, triple, more or less? In 2005 I could sell six games to Montreal and Toronto fans and make enough to pay for my four seats for the year. Now we make $50/$100 per game if we choose to sell them but I have so many friends and family that know I have good seats and they buy must of my excess and I just sell them for what I paid. 1 1 Quote
