Scottysabres Posted July 15 Report Posted July 15 Eh? I bought a lovely 1800’s full dining room set from his brother, Jebediah. Real quality work from this family. 1 Quote

Second Line Center Posted July 15 Report Posted July 15 Immediately wondering who we’ve acquired from the league via trade or UFA of significance that tells me this guy did a good job. 1. Bo (Yep) 2. Stanley (meh) 3. Kesselring (nope) 4. Doan (Yep) 5. Lyon (Sure) 6. McCleod (Yep) 7. Zucker (easy call) 8. Carrick (Sure) Thats all I got. Quote
Mango Posted July 15 Report Posted July 15 1 hour ago, Brawndo said: This is actually a win for the Sabres Correct. It's not that Crowe was good or bad at his job. The positive is that the Pegula plants are now outnumbered. Pegula has Forton. The rest of the FO is fully assembled by Jarmo with minimal or no allegiance to Terry. It feels like the hockey org can now go ahead and make hockey decisions. 1 Quote

Largely to type of player this team went after was different as soon as they hired Lindy. More than anything Ruff is the catalyst for change in both roster construction and FO personnel. 2 Quote

He can fire everyone in the building. Everyone has allegiance to Terry unless they'd like to find employment somewhere else. 1 Quote

I assume you understand the nuance here and are just being pedantic/comtrarian. 1 Quote

I assume you understand the nuance here and are just being pedantic/comtrarian. Adams isn't here anymore. Lets start with that. Asking who 'stands up' to Pegula sounds quite combative. I really don't get the impression that the Sabres operate that way. Your choice of words in both posts really leaves alot to be desired. If your asking me who reports to Pegula directly my guess is the GM with the Coach likely reporting to the GM not the owner with respect to day to day operations. If the owner becomes dissatisfied with either the GM or the Coach or any other member of the organization he/she can be terminated by the owner. Pegula plants is also very odd choice of words. Sounds like somebody really enjoys conspiracy theories. Are you implying that Pegula has people secretly reporting to him behind Jarmos back? I'm older so maybe I'm just not up on today's modern lingo. Anyway I'll defer to you on what you really meant. You make it sound like some NY Times best seller spy thriller. I highly doubt things are that dramatic in the Sabres organization. Finally the big words aren't impressive. I have a law degree and passed both the Florida and New York bar exams. Using words like pedantic and contrarian is far more condescending than it is impressive. At least in the context you used them in. Reminds me of some of my UB Law classmates I despised the most. Wow you made it past the Florida bar exam’s 80% pass rate? Didn’t realize we were in the company of geniuses here! 3 Quote

Definitely not. Quote

No offense but for the Florida bar exam, it’s like the Seinfeld joke about what’s required to get a taxi cab license: you simply need to have a face. Edited July 16 by Cascade Youth Quote
