LGR4GM Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/obituaries/sam-neill-actor-jurassic-park-dies-new-zealand-rcna587240 Really sad to hear about this. As a 90's kid, Jurassic Park is iconic to me and I have a core memory of seeing it at the Bath Drive-In if you can believe that. My dad made me cover my eyes during the scene where the raptors eat the guy. When I was older, I remember watching the Hunt for Red October on VHS and between Neill, Curry, Connery, loved that movie ever since. Finally, I saw "Event Horizon" as a Freshmen in high school during a sleep over and that movie... man was I not ready. I watched it again years later and though not as scary, I still kinda love it. As a major user of the GIF feature, I will use one of my favorites to remember Sam Neill. RIP. 2 1 Quote

Dead Calm is an underrated classic. Nicole Kidman, Billy Zane, Sam Neill, the open ocean and probably the best sound editing of any movie ever (the sound is the fourth character, or fifth if you count the sea as a character). Just a phenomenal suspense thriller. And Neill was a super underrated actor - he nailed every part (including his sadly abbreviated villain in Peaky Blinders). 1 Quote
