39 million is due iin the first 12 months.

Plus this

They’re definitely trying to hamstring Anaheim. I don’t know enough about their ownership’s cash flow or if this will be like the Shea Weber situation where the owner has to take out a loan to pay the bonuses because they can’t afford it.

Good thing they got the 60% signing bonus maximums in the new MOU taking effect mid-September.  Agents better get on their horses.  The really fun ride ends in 2-1/2 months.

The Ducks owner is known as an outstanding leader and person. Per Kevin Weeks does amazing things for all staff and players. IMHO Flyers acting the fool along the lines of the Browns signing of Watson. Absolute joke of a move. Who knows if Ducks match but Flyers pissing off entire league. Good luck with that.

If you’re giving up 4 first round picks then Bedard is the guy.  Give him the max and make Chicago match.

If your a division rival of the Blackhawks it makes sense.

Wasn’t it Edmonton?  And I always thought we should’ve taken the picks.

I'd take the picks. Love Briere, but if he's going to pay $18M for Carlsson, there might be more mismanagement to come. 4 years worth.

After the Vanek offer sheet, didn't Edmonton pick first several times?

He was under 20 yo when he signed his 1st contract, so he needs 3 years of experience to be able to sign an offer sheet.  He only had 1 game of pro experience (1 NHL game) in his 1st contract year, so he didn't get credited for a year of pro experience for that one.  He has 2 years to his credit which isn't enough.

So, no, he is not eligible to receive an offer sheet.

There’s the downside of the college kids deciding to burn the first year of their contract when signing at the end of the year.

This is insanity, but boy is it fun.

Flyers still mad about Gauthier wanting out maybe 🙂

However this shakes out a lot of heads are going to explode.

They’ve made a few trades together in recent years (Zegras, Gauthier). I just assumed there was a good working relationship there. So much for that idea.

Gauthier was forced on them though, by Gauthier. The Zegras thing had issues the other way. Flyers fans booed Gauthier start to finish when they played and there were already fights as the teams knew so the long distance hate is already built in. No idea how the GMs feel about each other but this seems cut throat.

Flyers fans would boo a toddler with cancer if he was wearing the wrong jersey.
