#freejame Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 Who knows maybe that third round pick could someday be a 50 goal scorer or a Selke candidate. Quote
Nacho Libre Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 Knew he wouldn’t have much value. As I was saying, didn’t seem like he was part of the plans anymore Quote
oddoublee Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 I enjoyed using Levi in EA Hockey 26. And I eventually traded him for a 1st round pick. Guess I got that on Jarmo 🤷♂️ 1 Quote
nfreeman Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 They had to do it, but it's still a disappointing end for a guy who showed a lot of promise and who the Sabres had high hopes for. So the return for Reinhart is now Kulich and whatever this 3rd rounder turns into. 2 Quote
Night Train Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 We develop him for 3 years...to get a 3rd round pick in 2 years. Whatever.. 1 1 Quote
krakensabr56390 Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 we got another teams Levi for free ( Ellis) so that was the end of our Levi here 1 Quote
Hoss Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 Extremely disappointed in the way Levi was managed. Hope he has a great career in Edmonton. 5 4 1 Quote

Great kid. 3rd is the going rate for an unproven waiver-eligible goalie prospect and about what I expected. Still think he'll turn into an NHLer and has far greater NHL potential than Ellis, but the writing was on the wall. 1 Quote

Ellis was a 3rd round pick himself - Levi was overhyped bc of who he got traded for Quote

Now if you said he was overhyped because of the 2020 WJC, you'd have a case. 1 Quote

Little less than I thought maybe given it’s 2028 but pretty much it’ll only be a sad sad day until we acquire CH 1 Quote
Taro T Posted July 1 Report Posted July 1 Just now, krakensabr56390 said: He was outplayed by Ellis who’s a better goalie and same level prospect Not exactly. After they got Ellis, Ellis never played on the Amerks and Levi never again played on the Sabres. And Ellis only got a handful of games. Because of circumstances, Ellis was slotted into the backup role while UPL and then Lyon were injured and when both were healthy they couldn't send him down without having the Blues take him back. They never got to a point where 2 goalies were injured at the same time, so Levi never got another chance with the big club. 1 2 Quote

So let me ask the follow up question which is if Jarmo doesn’t get a chance to see apples to apples comparisons between the two, why is Ellis kept and Levi moved? Both are waiver eligible. Same situation. Any other factors making Levi the stronger candidate? 1 Quote
