and they list Olen Zellwger at 5'10" so really no difference from these other studs...

Fox is 5'11" and listed at only 181lbs. Not saying that is who Zellweger is but there's some 5'10" guys around that do okay. Also he's either going to be playing with 6'8" Crevier or 6'6" Power, so I think he will be okay.

This is a great signing imo, not of fan of his defensive game (there is a youtube video talking about his weak defensive play but I can't seem to find it now) but I think Lindy can instil that in him hopefully and it's not like Byram was some defensive juggernaught.

Well, even if he is more or less a black hole in his own end like Byram was, if he can move up ice and playmake similarly to what Bo did; then they'll very likely try to primarily have him paired with Power with the hope being that just like Bo and Owen complemented each other's strengths they also complemented each other's weaknesses and their actual stats were quite a bit better than their analytics seemed to indicate what they should actually have been.

They won't even have to deal it though.  They can if it makes sense.  Or they could give him a 2 year deal walking him to be a UFA with the plan that Rudolph would replace him when he walks or they could go long term too.

One thing is certain.  Kekalainen learned from his mistakes of letting Bobrovsky and Panarin walk in FA because he ran out of options.  Every deal he's made so far reeks of flexibility.

And if they really can convert UPL and Quinn + prospect/pick into Hellebucyk, they'd stll have roughly that same amount of space left (maybe ~$0.5MM less).

And before I forget about this deal as free agency gets nuts, spending $3M on your 4/5 over the next 3 years is good business the way the cap is going.

Curious to find out how good he actually is and can be.
