I know we’ve got the around the NHL thread, but there doesn’t seem to be a centralized Free Agency thread. Figure maybe for day one of free agency, we can all gather and enjoy the show.

The year doesn't officially start until noon today. So until then we wait for possible trades or whispers/rumors.

Free Agency is a fool's game. Overpaying for past production on declining players whose contract will be an albatross in 2 years.

If Byram is getting $12.5M I imagine Makar is pushing $15M or more.

I’m not saying I want stupid moves (I mean, i wouldn’t mind at least one swing for an impact player. Not just talking signings) but I still hope that by the end of today we seem to be at least marginally improved on ice. Or, maybe, in the next few days, by a non-negligible amount

If they do need to bring in a forward, due to trades or whatever, I’d like to see a Tuch replacement with more snarl. I know you won’t get a 30 goal player but if they can get a 20 goal player with some jam for 1/2 to 2/3 of Tuch, I’ll be happy.
