I think they are wanting a top 6 of:

Benson-Kulich-Thompson

Doan-Norris-Kane

I think I like that a lot. There’s a ton of injury risk, but we have capable depth.

I’d like to see:

Benson Tage Doan

Östlund Helenius Kane

Kulich Norris Quinn

Zucker Carrick Beck

x Krebs

if Helle is not acquired

@tom webster and I have both heard through the grapevine that the org thinks Kulich is ready for the 1C role. Lindy likes him A LOT. I do think we see some sort of kids line like you have, but I think it’s probably Zucker playing with them just based on bodies.

Ahh fair enough! Helenius just strikes me as someone who could really gel with Kane

Zucker Helenius Östlund ?

wasn’t Zucker who had a handful of 2 on 1’s with Konsta?

Lol Kane is elite on the PP.  Zucker is above average there

Fine then trade Zucker.  Having two old declining PP specialists in our top 9 is a poor roster construction.  Moving Zucker to the 4th line is even worse.

Well JoshDoan91 is reporting it so it has to be true😝😁

Assuming this is true, where is he playing?  With Kane, the Sabres have 11 forwards “needing” top 9 roles.  Something or someone has to give.

But is this a garbage tweet or legit? Seeing it nowhere. Logically makes sense as Kane replaces Quinn if Quinn is moved for Hellebuyck.
1. Kane signed for 3.5

2. Krebs signed for 3

3 hellebuyck for Quinn, UPL mrtka

salary cap: start at 8, -3.5 (Kane), -3 (Krebs), -8.5 (helle), +3.375 (Quinn), + 4.75 (UPL) = salary cap +1.125. Works well.

What are Kane’s and Zucker’s D metrics? My guess is devolving toward Skinner level bad.  Do we really want both in the lineup?

Think this is a good move. He still can move the needle on the offense, let him roll.

Garbage tweet

Schmaltz has hit on a few things before. He was the first to report McKenna to Penn State. A few other NHL things here and there. But he's also often very wrong. Was one of the main voices pumping Byram to the Blues last offseason and, if I remember correctly, Eichel to the Rangers.

As a former player, probably has some connections, but also seems to blow a lot of smoke.

I think he may have also been ahead on Parayko rejecting?

Sounds correct. So, while I'm not convinced based on his post, I'm not exactly ignoring it.

Is that a Schmalz tweet?  I didn't see his name on it?

The post like five posts from the top of this thread sites his twitter because he posted it was happening. His original tweet is somewhere over the last few pages.
