Not having one prospect among the forward ranks is odd and disheartening. On the plus side, a bunch of the vets they signed or retained don’t take any BS. Having to worry about teams taking liberties on Helenius, Östlund, Kulich, Quinn, Peterka is no longer an issue.

Some of the young D look spry and willing. Along with watching their development, gauging their toughness and ability to help in that regard will be interesting.

Seven players in the press box opening night, even with 6 injured guys (Zucker, Zellweger, Rathbone, Timmons, Lyon, Leinonen) still in Buffalo?

The no-ECHL thing gets even weirder.

At least they will OK when the injury bug bites in the AHL.

But there are going to be more than a few frustrated players.

The start of the ECHL season is still 2 weeks away.  Those guys in the press box would still be with Rochester anyway.  They'll eventually loan them out somewhere anyway.

Amerks gonna need to answer. Marlies abusing Amerks in the crease. They have the guys. Let’s go this.

They appear to be dominating the game but the Marlies goalie is standing on his head. Still scoreless halfway thru.

Finally! Fiddler-Schultz power play goal. 1-0.

I hate that teams only auction off the game worn specialty jerseys instead of making replicas available to everyone. Not all can bid $500-1000 for a jersey. The quantity of jerseys sold would likely bring in more money than just the auction.

They had non-game worn Buffamooses available from last year's Bills day game.  Don't know if they do it for other games or not; but they definitely had those available.  Pretty sure they were only available at the rink though.

Villalta with the Ryan Miller Shutout. Though, to be fair, he faced 20 shots in the third period. Amerks 3-1 win in the opener.

Whom is villalta? Anybody to be intrigued about?
