It amazes me thar our minor league system is in absolute shambles right now and won't even have an ECHL affiliate and nobody seems to give a *****.

Well, when you put it like that, you’re right. But the AHL backfill doesn’t start until July 1.

Who is even in charge of Rochester after Son Of Satan Karmanos left?

Good question.  The Sabres haven’t said. GMJK did win one Calder Cup as a Columbus GM and was listed as GM of the AHL team at the time. So I’m not pessimistic.

Rochester players so far  https://www.amerks.com/team/2026-player-tracker

F - Richard, Geersten, Fiddler-Schultz, Kopff, Meyer, Costantini, Valente, Savage, Slaggert, Warren and possibly Kulich or Helenius

D - Strbak, Komarov, McCarthy, R Johnson, Rathbone, Laaoaun and maybe Mrtka

G - Levi, Ratzlaff and Leinonen

How much more work is there for Jarmo do to here?

Geertsen will be here, but he’s not worth the roster spot. Without Kulich or Helenius (likely), that’s an entire forward line to find. Geertsen will be the extra, so that’s at least four.

I think three goalies will be an NHL trend in 26-27 and for that reason, I don’t expect Levi to clear waivers. The crease is in trouble in ROC.

I think you have the D correct. They’ll be OK there and Mrtka will play all situations.

I’ve made a couple posts about it but they died on the vine, so you may be right.

The D is in pretty good shape, if you’re OK with losing their best player.

But they have 2 questionable baby goalies and second-tier veterans and zero prospect depth up front.

I kinda expect a rush of free agent signings that will send us scrambling to hockey db this week and was reserving my panic until that plays out.

He needs another defender and 2-4 more forwards. Even with Mrtka you need 8 guys in Rochester in case of a callup. On forward you only have 10 if Kulich and Helenius are called up. You need to add.

I’m wondering if Danforth and or Kozak are Rochester bound assuming they clear waivers.  My guess is Danforth.  Given his injury and contract I doubt he gets claimed but he’s be good insurance to have around in case of injury in Buffalo.

Pugilists are needed in the AHL. The Amerks have gone a few seasons without a heavyweight and it showed. 18-19 year old kids can be intimidated. Without a face puncher like Geertsen, they play different.

Yep. He's got some sand in his game.

And the game got ruined? I feel awful. Starting the GoFundMe now to replace the game

This should go here

Might not look like huge production, but he led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in points during the 25-26 regular season.

The forward had a stellar year with the Penguins, posting career-highs in goals, assists, shots, and points throughout 65 games with the club.
