Bittersweet at best.  Two excellent Sabres that fit the team.  

Now Jarmo needs to replenish the roster with a few vets.  They can’t rely on kids alone.

At some point any serious franchise will need to pay their core guys and with term that will likely age poorly. 

This was an opportunity for the Sabres to make a statement to the league that they're serious about contending right NOW and not just launching guys when they get too good and want too much..... and everybody wonders why they have trouble attracting quality free agents.

Likely. This year, WSH had Anaheim's 1st, and their own 4th, 5th, and 7th.

Next summer: ANH 3rd, SJ 3rd, WSH 4, 5, 7, and OTT 7.

Actually I think Buffalo would have to sign him to the deal and then trade him. He wasn't on the Caps before the trade deadline which is the cutoff from my CBA understanding.

Will be interesting to see how Jarmo gets some scoring, and maybe some defensive depth, back into the roster now that some financial issues have been sorted.

The team just got younger again, which is something we don't necessarily want to be doing. 

At least we're getting some offseason entertainment 😄

Tuch is the declining player you want to avoid. His max ability was always as a second line guy who could kill penalties. A nice player but far from irreplaceable. Between Helenus, Oslund and Kulich his minutes will be replaced nicely. 

My guess is by Friday we will not pick in the first round...

Buffalo like baseball teams are farm teams to big clubs that will spend to get these players! I’m gonna keep saying this but proven players don’t have Buffalo as a top destination spot along with Calgary and Vancouver

What is Jarmo to do? Neither wanted to be here any longer. F*** holding teams hostage. Alex Tuch is not a $10.5. Player. Never ever. Byram isn’t either. 
 

Hopefully changes will be made in next cba to limit players holding teams hostage.

that is correct. We sign him to the contract and then trade him. Only way to add the 8th year.
