If we could get Helly for UPL, Norris and Mrkta, I would do that in a heartbeat and, if we re-sign Byram, I would call it a successful offseason even if we lose Tuch.

And if we did all that and kept Tuch...

IF the Peg would accept that I think you would have the money to re-sign Tuch.

Greenway could still go

Danforth

And you can still extend Benson and re-sign Mal and Krebs

I still don't understand why Winnipeg would want to move Hellebuyck. I'd be happy to take him, but I don't get it.

He wants out. And Winnipeg loves trading with Jarmo Claus

If Bobo is all that then why isn't Florida hanging on the him?

Don't know that he's necessarily going to be available.

Should he become available, guessing it comes down to cap space.  Doubt they're done reshaping their roster and they're down to only ~$7MM in cap space with no goalies signed and only 6 D signed.

You can say THAT again.  😉

Yeah, this is kind of like Hasek wanting out of Buffalo.  Would be very happy to see him in B&G even at a cost that's painful.

Is it worth gutting this team to get him?

Coming at a cost that might be painful isn't necessarily the same as "gutting this team."  Don't believe that anybody has advocated for that.

We are already dismantling our 109-point division winner. How many pieces do you move until your not that team anymore?

The Jets don't want to trade him but he is forcing their hand

When he will only accept a trade to 5 teams, this is a huge overpay

probably could get it done with UPL, a mid level prospect and draft picks.  20th overall to start with

Maybe Kulich is involved, along with UPL and let's say Metsa?

Seems a bit more reasonable but is anyone trading for Kulich?

According to Frank, there are 6 teams the Jet goalie would consider and the Sabres are one he has his eye on:

As if we needed to hear any more to want this guy

We're "dismantling" the 109 point team?  Really?  We know this for certain?

His last 3 playoff seasons:

.895 this past regular season.

I don't think he would be great in Ruff's not-particularly-structured defensive system.

33years of age.   Would eat up any cap that we could use to add an impact player this season. 5 years left. $8.5 million until 38.

I'm gonna pass.

I am gonna float this.....what if Winnipeg was willing to accept this deal:

Hellebuyck

For

UPL and Helenius

Thats it, no extra picks, no other prospects, if it was just UPL and Helenius would you do it?

Man I am really torn....

I’d make this deal yesterday. One of the most valuable players in the world for a prospect? It’s a no brainer. A 3 on 3 goal against Switzerland in tournament no one cares about doesn’t change that

Helenius, to the best of my knowledge, has never played against the best of the best.

In the playoffs this year, though, he scored two points, the same amount as Connor Timmins

And in the regular season, he piled up 1 point in 8 games against Carolina, Montreal, the Islanders, Toronto, LA Tampa and Pittsburgh, so there's that.

I believe this was part of segment where he indicated the Sabres were one of 6 teams Hellebuyck (who has an NTC) would consider a trade to. And I saw elsewhere second hand that Dreger also said the Sabres are a destination he would accept.

No no only McDavid. Maybe

You have to think of the vital role Helenius Mrtka and Norris played in getting us to game 7 of th-LMAO

I certainly wouldn’t if it involved Helenius, he has an “it” factor which makes me unwilling to deal him.

Great, I’m picking the Sabres to win the cup next year if we have Hellebuyck, that would be my legitimate prediction. You can have Helenius

Tuch? Gone. Byram? Leaving. UPL, McLeod, Norris, Helenius, Östlund, all being dangled.

You want our 1st, sure I’m flexible but not that flexible. Helle’s season last year, and previous playoff appearances do concern me. Thus it would feel off to trade a guy who seems to have that “it” factor for a player who has yet to prove he has it in crunch time minus 1 gold medal.
