What difference does that make if they are competing for Stanley Cups, and if that squad stays healthy, they will be.

If they win a cup its worth it. If they don't it won't be remembered well.

I live in Panthers country and they have quite an organization. This year they were tired and all the injuries added up. A healthy team plus another Tkachuk puts them in as the frontrunners to win the division back and make another run. The only question is goaltending. But Zito is perhaps the best GM in hockey so he will figure it out.

Apparently he was open to Florida, Vegas, Carolina and Minny. It seems players are all trying to move to the same teams.

Florida doesn't have a first until 2030. I'm sure the next GM will thank Zito for the 10 year car crash that awaits the franchise.

Ottawa just tells Florida “here, take your playoff spot back”.

I have a feeling FLA will be in a higher playoff position next year then OTT was this year.

No matter how high they climb, one of the 5 teams from the division have to fall out for them to get there.

Yeah. IdK, he made a calculated decision to go after Staal 3 seconds into game one and IMO if backfired spectacularly, not that Ottawa actually had a chance bit I think that was a poor decision choice by Tkachuk. Nah, I'll pass on bad decision makers like that.

I don’t have the numbers to back this up but I suspect he may be among the league leaders in stupid penalties.

True, but that will just blend in in Florida.

Got a lot of respect for that organization, but a slow team just even slower.

Really curious what they do in goal.

Jason Dickinson 5 years $4M. Third line centers with limited offensive ability now making $4M per. McCleod’s contract is going to age so well.

Sure not helping convince me that Greenway is untradeable at 1x$4M

I love Seattle in the summer. It’s just not Vancouver.

Maybe, true at one time Rico, but recently comparing Seattle now to the 1980s and 90’s era was disappointing for me.

Ottawa has to be making a big push for Robertson, no?

I imagine so, at least their fans are. I saw yesterday a discussion that his current girlfriend is from Kingston Ontario and she might want to live closer to home.

He is from Orange County California, I doubt too many colder climates are on his list, especially ones with non winning organizations

The  interview I heard from Staal made it sound like it was a mutual thought.

What makes you think that won’t happen? At the beginning of the season no one would have 1. Not expected Florida to not make the playoffs and 2. Believe the Sabres to do as well as they did.

The 26-27 season will show if the Sabres second half drive to top of the division was real or just a fluke. Time will tell.

A tale as old as time with Vegas.  Larkin or Hellebuyck probably.

To me Vegas has too much turnover. Always going for the shiny new toy.

I could see Helle being a pretty good fit for them tbh
