Hoss Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 (edited) Paced 16-38-54 over 82 games this season (32-25-57 in the postseason). The production isn’t that far off. Feels safe to see a 20-40-60 floor for him production wise and he plays a great 200-foot game. Edited June 19 by Hoss Quote

Because he can lock up over $50MM at age 21, hopefully spend most or all of that 7 years as a mainstay on a cup contender, and then sign a very fat extension when he's 27 (to take effect at 28). 9 4 3 Quote

Maybe. He could also show, on a loop, the video of him interacting with JA17. He's worth a lot to the Sabres off the ice. I'd do a bridge deal and bet on myself with the cap going up. $7 million is a steal. 3 Quote
sven233 Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 If this gets done for 7 or around there, that would be incredible. Having guys like him and Doan, not to mention Thompson, Dahlin, Power, etc. all under what I would consider very team friendly deals for the next several seasons will prove important if guys like Helenius, Östlund, Kulich pan out and need contracts down the road..... 2 Quote

Because he is restricted and has less leverage than an unrestricted guy. Because he might like this team and his teammates and does not want to risk pushing for a lot more, risking him getting moved for a pretty decent package in return but ending up in a location he does not want to go to. Because as much as he is liked, he is not a perfect player or a superstar. He has missed games with injuries a few times. He plays wing, not center. Centers tend to get paid a tad more. Because he scores right now in a mid-teens pace. Because he is right now at best a 2nd unit PP guy and an alternate on the PK. He looks to be a very good player. But most contracts much bigger than this for guys his age are reserved for superstars in waiting. Edited June 21 by EM88 8 Quote

He’ might bridge at $2/10 but this is guaranteed $49m.. it’s a no brainer much like Doan. 1 Quote
OverPowerYou Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 How many 7Million a year players can they afford? Quote
Flashsabre Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 but but but I was told Jarmo is awful and destroying the team. Would be a huge deal to get locked in. Benson will outplay that contraact in short order. Would be huge 2 Quote

Considering an average player salary will be $5.9M in few years, probably quite a few. People continue to view contracts through the flat cap. Quote

He'll probably end up with a bit more than Doaner anyway -- maybe $7.5MM per year or so. 51 minutes ago, OverPowerYou said: How many 7Million a year players can they afford? They need to afford this one. I'd part with anyone on the team other than maybe Dahlin before I'd part with Benson. 2 3 Quote
