The Jokeman Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 He's making $8.7 million per season with 4 seasons which is around what we were looking to give Tuch and he's only 29, so would you trade Tuch's right for him or even toss in an extra draft pick too or maybe Kesserling (tbh I am a Kesserling fan but if meant getting Larkin I'd be okay with it) ? I mean it's hard to trade within division but we did when got Norris for Cozens. Which brings up a second thought if Tuch doesn't want to go would you trade Norris for him? Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 He has 5 seasons left, not 4. Puckpedia switched over to the 2026/7 season already. Larkin also has a full NTC. Quote
DHawerchuk10 Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Dylan Larkin is personally one of my favorite non-Sabres. I'd love to acquire him. No clue what it would take, but I imagine it would be a boat load. 2 2 Quote

It's a level below the Quinn Hughes deal and also Larkin controls where he goes with his full NTC. 3 Quote

EDIT: I'd make that trade you suggested in a heart beat with Norris always being a question mark in terms of injury. Granted I'd love to re-sign Tuch too but if we can't at the very least we upgraded Norris and got a replacement for Tuch and didn't increase our cap significantly. He's a bonafide first liner, and plays a style that fits with the Sabres (speed, speed, and more speed). Quote
CTJoe Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Not sure if Tuch would do a sign an trade, he may to get an extra year? If he would, Tuch and Norris for Larkin? Tuch and Norris for Larkin UPL and Kulich for Wallstedt Greenway and Dansworth for Whatever Leaves us 20million to sign: Benson 7x7 beck 2.5x2 kesselring 3.5x3 krebs 3x3 depth D (7/8 with Metsa) for 1.5x1 3.0million left for deadline trades Also, sign Byram for 7X8 - cap doesn't affect us until next year 1 Quote

They are still living under the delusional that all they need is one or two players and mostly a top 6 guy to play with Pasternak. This would fit that idea for them entirely and they have firsts from Toronto, Florida and their own to dangle. 2 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 Keep in mind if he's asking for a trade it's because he thinks Detroit's rebuild is stalled and he wants to be on a cup contender. He might not see Buffalo as that. 7 Quote

There are no guarantees about how a team will perform after a successful season. However, when assessing a roster and making a projection for a team how can you not be optimistic about our near future compared to most other teams. 1 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 His game is speed and he's a year or two from losing a step. Will he good enough with less speed? Absolutely, I'd take Larkin over Norris, but I'd rather have Thomas. The whole thing with Detroit has been... if Larkin is your best forward you're not going anywhere. 3 Quote

#freejame Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 There are few players I’d rather see in a Sabres uniform than Dylan Larkin. Forget about Tuch. Forget about Thomas. Make this happen. 3 1 Quote

I don’t see how Helenius, Östlund, Power or Bryan aren’t a part of the deal. Maybe the Tuch sign and trade is a thing but I’m guess that’s a super remote possibility. If we can trade him for a bunch of players that we don’t like or care about, great. I just don’t see that anywhere near a possibility. I respect @LGR4GM as much as anyone who provides hockey content, if he thinks the proposed deals are enough, I’ll hold out hope. 1 1 Quote
HumanSlinky39 Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 (edited) Larkin's a good, not great centerman. Probably a 2C on a good team. 60-70 points, decent 2-way player. Is he better than Robert Thomas? I don't think so. Not sure if he'd want to come here with his full NTC, but Jarmo should at least open a dialogue to see if it's possible. Norris would be an obvious asset to offer up, but with his injury history, I really wonder how desirable he'd be to anyone. Maybe Norris, a prospect or two and a pick gets it done (if Larkin would come here)? They might want one of Östlund/Helenius and then you have to weigh the short-term guaranteed 60-70 points vs. the potential of those two. Edited June 4 by HumanSlinky39 3 Quote
