I completely forgot about Sabretooth not being lowered for game seven. Did they say anywhere if that was intentional? I know he was with Ray at the drum banging which was also kind of weird.

They need to get rid of the a cappella American Idol singers. They bring the excitement down. Hockey games should always have a singer accompanied by an organist, whether Doug Allen or another.

Goalie taunts… specifically when the opposing goalie isn’t struggling, especially when there hasn’t even been a SOG. Goalie taunts will always have a place in hockey, but the way they’re being deployed right now from the opening face off ain’t it. We’re better than this, Sabres fans.

Habs fans do it very strategically. This nonsense off the opening faceoff has to go.

Have the organist just play and have the crowd sing. If we must have an anthem at all... I find that spectacle, unnecessary. 

Bring a guest singer in from time to time.

I’m blaming the crowd for being out of practice. Proper heckling etiquette is quickly forgotten.

Cami can sing with an organist or a band or a soundtrack.   She is more talented and more relevant than Doug, who was good in his day, but his day is over.  He can be a guest, he is fine as a guest.   

I love the US National Anthem.  I love playing both anthems at hockey games. It's a part of Buffalo's hockey experience.  

Was I programmed to be patriotic as a kid (as my kids have told me)?  YES, probably so.    I'm NEVER gonna change on this one.  Tradition is a good and valuable thing IMO.

It's funny, they abolished the pledge of alligence from school and we were all brought up fairly patriotic. 

After I was deployed and came home, it all just bothers me, the salute to service, the forced applause, the anthems, etc. I wish I could explain it better. I know my father was $hit on when he came home from Vietnam and I appreciate that efforts were made to not let that happen again, but man, I hate that it's just so forced now. 

Maybe it's the fact that I was getting shot at and lost friends for a foreign war that was utterly meaningless, and now I am desensitized to it all, could be something else completely lol. 

I get anthems for big international events (Olympics, World cup, etc) but there are 40+ of these games without any real big world stage, I don't need the anthem every time.

I don't understand why they chose Money for Nothing. Money For Nothing makes no sense, it has no connection and it can actually be taken in a negative light. It's almost like Pegula is punking the city while he watches the value of his franchise rise. Stupid song to use. 

Find a Buffalo area song that fits or give me back the Sabre Dance.
