Wants to lock up Byram for a long time

Loves Zach Benson cannot praise him  enough

Wants him locked up to a long term deal

I doubt this is the case but I'll throw it out there...

Is him speaking SO highly about Benson also a shot at Tuch basically saying..."Our offer is out there you better take what is on the table"?  If Tuch signs, they still control Benson as an RFA and they can go a shorter term deal with him. But if Tuch is still waiting and waiting on things, and Benson in the mean time signs a long term deal (maybe comparble to Doan), then things get a lot harder for Tuch.

Sign Tuch for 8-9 per then package Tuch, Kesselring, Levi, Ryan Johnson and two 1st for McDavid

Maybe throw in a beer Sabre and the rights to Greenway's hairline (h/t to @inkman).

Given how Allen and the Bills reworked their numbers to keep him and others under contract, expect Tuch and Jarmo to do the same.

My bet is Tuch stays a Sabre.

NHL players cannot renegotiate their existing contracts. Under the league's Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), renegotiating, restructuring, or altering the terms—such as changing salaries to free up cap space like they do in the NFL—is expressly forbidden.

If only the Oilers would take Tuch, 1 NHL scrap piece, 2 AHL players, and 2 late first rounders for the best player in the league.

lol, this is almost as good as when I hear Bruins fans saying they could get Draisaitl out of Edmonton because Sturm is also German and he might want to play for him.

Would Shane Doan come on board? He’s well respected and left Toronto because he hates Chayka.

I think slightly more as he has shown more production at this point than Doan had when he got his contract

Kinda odd, I don't think Jarmo or Lindy brought up Tage by name once.  Lindy certainly alluded to his careless mistakes though.

Good point. He did say he had dreams of us scoring on that 2on1 but never mentioned tage’s name

Not even close though going to edm

it would be something like tage, Byram, Helenius, mrtka and a 1st. And I prob wouldn’t say no

Not relevant - the nfl cap is incredibly different than the nhl cap. Can’t convert salary into bonuses. The nfl cap is fake, NHL one straight forward

Power was solid.  Good for him to battle through an injury and still perform.  He is going to continue to get better.

Stanley - no wonder he didn't drop them.  He was tame compared to his normal game were he seems to like dropping them.

Carrick rushed back because the team needed him, and then got hurt again.   He should be back next season.

The injury Power had will likely require a minor surgery and causes pain, discomfort and weakness in the leg afflicted. How he still looked so steady is a wonder. He may not be the most outwardly tough but he must be pretty freaking tough mentally.

I liked what most of what Jarmo said but the fact that he not only likes our goalie situation but liked the 3 headed monster of goalies is concerning, not a defcon 5 type of concerning but definitely a defcon 3 as of right now listening to this (He might also just be saying all the right things, we shall see).

One of the first things he said when he took over was address the goaltending trio.  Then he backed away from that, injuries hit and Ruff wanted all of them.

in Sabres circles it reads as he is already there. clearly a star  . He's a cult hero already!

This was at least the 4th season that the Sabres spent a significant portion of the season with 3 goalies.  They've learned that they don't have to jump through too many hoops to make it work.

The disappointing part of it is, none of the 3 really stood out as a true #1.  The good part is, they seemed to almost always have at least 1 that was playing like a #1 for a spell.  And overall, the GA was pretty low compared to the rest of the league.

And with them seemingly planning to keep UPL, it's one more indicator that Tuch is gone unless he decides to settle for way less $'s than he's been asking for.

Watching Byram's presser, not sure he was as eager to sign long-term as Jarmo was.

He did say his priority is winning and having a chance for the cup every year, in conjunction with saying he believes in and enjoys the team and thinks their top 4 on D is something rare an special.

Allen literally asked for a pay raise. The only reason he got a new deal was because he was leapfrogged.

Beane said Allen was texting him when other guys signed for more than he made.

Taking $55M per year and being the highest paid QB in the league instead of taking $60M per year isn't the favor fans pretend it is.

He said he'd rather carry 3 than rely on an EBUG. The NHL might be allow a roster exemption for a third goalie starting next year. The Sabres were just ahead of the curve.

While I like Tuch and would like to see him retained, I agree with this.  If they can't sign everybody, and Tuch is going to command a long-term deal in excess of $10M per season on the open market at the age of 30+ (and wants that), the inevitable result is that they'll have to let him walk.  I'm looking at the Montreal series as an anomaly.  Tuch was one of the best players against Boston and an excellent player overall who adds a lot to the team.  There's only so much space under the salary cap.

That's the ugly reality of the salary cap era. I'd love to bring Tuch back as well. Aside from the on-ice production, I feel he brings a lot of intangibles in the form of leadership, and Stanley Cup Finals experience. But if signing him means the franchise will be forced to allocate money away from locking up Byram, Benson, and any of the other young talent, then I'll gladly sacrifice Tuch upon the alter of the salary cap.

I understand that but none of the 3 in my opinion are winning us a cup so to me it's a problem.

I had a similar sense listening to Jarmo's presser. Sounded to me like they talked, the price is too high, and now Jarmo is convinced losing Tuch because the ask is too great won't hurt the team.
