Night Train Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 On the ice for 3 goals in the win. A goal and an assist. Looks great. 3 1 Quote
JohnC Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 Kulich, Helenius and Östlund will most likely be on the roster when the season starts. On top of that, there's also the expectation that Quinn, Benson Power will also be getting better. That's a quite a foundation that argues to stay the course and don't mess with what is working. Internal improvement more than outside additions will be the reason why this team should be better next season, even if the point total is less. I hope Jarmo doesn't get too cute with his offseason transactions and end up outsmarting himself. 2 Quote
FrenchConnection44 Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 Helenius and Barkov lead Finland over Canada. Big win. Love it. Helenius is a definite roster player and keeper. Can’t wait to see him progress! 3 Quote

Helenius is a definite roster player and keeper. Can’t wait to see him progress! With the potential of Helenius and Östlund along with are existing forwards, upfront we look set. Our Defense might be the best top 4 in hockey with some prospects on the way. Timmins, Metsa and hopefully a recovered Kesselring should be fine as 5/6. That leaves goaltending, which I don't have a ton of faith in. Lyon and UPL are serviceable but one could easily argue we'd still be in the playoffs if we had better goaltending. That season ending goal UPL gave up was hideous. If I'm Jarmo, I'm going hard after Hellebuyck or Wallstedt. I would target Wallstedt and would be willing to give up something Like Kulich (MIN is looking for a center) and our #1 pick. Edited May 31 by CTJoe 1 Quote

Can’t wait to see him progress! Helenius, Kulich and Östlund are three exciting young players. When I watched Helenius and Östlund last year I never got the sense that they were overmatched. Both of them played as if they belonged. I hope that we are able to keep this trio together. 2 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 1 hour ago, Porous Five Hole said: Norway just beat Canada for the bronze medal Not just an upset, but Canada couldn't score until (soon-to-be-ex-Blue) Robert Thomas netted both goals with Canada's goalie on the bench. They did get goalied though as the Norway goalie made 44 saves. Cozens got demoted off of the Crosby/Celebrini line during the game. Overall, Cozens was a good winger for them, though. Someday Ottawa will learn as well. Quote

Archie Lee Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 I know it is a watered down post-season tourney, but I’m not trading this guy in a package for a first line centre in the Thomas tier. 3 1 3 Quote

Swiss fans really taking the loss hard. Kinda like being a Bills fan and losing 4 straight Super Bowls. Edited May 31 by Apollo Quote
rickshaw Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 Konsta has some swagger about him. He’s a good player and he knows it. Happy for him and Sabres. Sad for the Swiss. Brutal. 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 Helenius really only had 1 concern coming out, pace. Liiga just has a slower breakout and attack style but man has he learned to pick it up. 1 Quote

There’s also room for Doan to improve, he’s younger than Quinn and has less NHL experience than Quinn, Benson, and. Power. 1 1 Quote
