Brawndo Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 (edited) This is one thing I wish Lindy would’ve done sooner and played him sooner after Östlund’s Injury Edited May 19 by Brawndo 1 Quote
sabrefanday1 Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 Good move...keep him playing and learning. Going to be a very good player for us for many years... 1 Quote
SabreFinn Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 There's a spot available next to Barkov after Teräväinen got injured. I want him to get that spot and learn from one of the best. 3 2 Quote

French Collection Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 Closest thing to a WC thread. Canada shuts out USA 4-0 in the quarterfinals. Not exactly Olympic sized revenge but it is something. Quote
Night Train Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 He's a keeper for next year. Looks so good going forward. 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 In today's quarterfinal, Helenius had the second most minutes at forward after a guy named Barkov. 1 Quote

Expect they're ok with him playing in that tourney as if he didn't/doesn't it'd be over a full year since the last time he played competitive hockey come training camp. Quote

Well not exactly. 2yrs ago he had 6pts in 10 games. Idk if I'd go world beater but def looked pretty good. Quote
Ctaeth Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 lately, he's been looking better than he did on the amerks this year. which is saying quite a bit.. because he looked great on the amerks! i'm definitely impressed Quote

An important point. You can be high on Helenius stock (I know I am) but draw a distinction between said player’s ability to seamlessly step in and aid our cup pursuit: which is what we are striving for now. As a regular contributor? Sure. Counting on him to replace Tuch? Would be a mistake considering the window of the team 3 2 Quote

I just as much wouldn't count him out as being an important piece of the puzzle next season. Replace Tuch? Maybe not completely in 2026-7, but given the little we've seen from him it seems he will help to fill any void that is created. Quote
SabreFinn Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Helenius has been excellent on a line with Barkov and Granlund. I am sure both those great players can learn him a thing or two. What has been most noticeable is his speed, but he has also been defensively responsible with a good two way game and he hardly loses a board battle. He has had lots of attempts to score so I am glad he had a goal against the Czecks. 1 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Well he's got the big game coming up so this should all be good experience for him. Can't hurt learning from Barkov either. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say eventually Helenius will be our 1C. My 4 young untouchables are Benson, Doan, Östlund and Helenius. 1 2 Quote
