You have both Craig Rivet and Brian Gionta living in the area. Both are former Sabres captains who also played for Montreal. It's hard to fly someone in last minute unless they were on standby for a game 7.

Plante is an assistant coach with the Blackhawks. I don’t think you’ll see him in a Sabres jersey, but I’ve been wrong before.

Andreychuk wore a goat head and participated in a broadcast during a late season Sabres game, he's a VP in the Tampa organization.

Good point, I didn’t realize that on Andreychuk. Is there a difference between being a VP and a coach for these purposes? Maybe these things just don’t matter anymore with the league full of former players. Maybe they never did.

No drum. Road game mentality. Can we get someone to do the Montreal torch thing?

Ya lost me at the Montreal torch thing, but no drum at this point might be the type of direction I’d take.

I really think toning down the fan chaos might just calm this team.

Then go nuts once the team is in lockdown mode.

The torch part was a joke. But I'm serious about the drum.

I wonder if they would go with someone who has a connection to the team via charity work?

Eg a survivor from Roswell park

REALLY hope not.  Sports are supposed to be entertainment and a break from the chore of every day life.

And they already have a game dedicated to HFC each regular season.  And that is fine.  It's for a worthy cause.  But would really like to just enjoy the game, regardless how the chips may fall.
