Mark my words, in 2-3 years Helenius will be our 1C. Benson will be on his wing. Östlund will be 2C. Norris is slikely still here and 3C when he's healthy but somebody new might be here as well by then.

That is unless we trade for Thomas. Still going to push that Thompson for Thomas (add pieces on both sides to make it a blockbuster) idea.

I would of course agree with you that moving Norris would be great, but I doubt you have a trade partner. There are other options where maybe you can just give him away to make cap room and go a different way but that's for Jarmo to work on not us. I mean he's not horrible, but he's not that good either, is injury prone, and costs a fair chunk. But that's next year's issue and meaningless if we keep winning now.

Remember when we wanted to trade Helenius for something? Good times.

Empty net goal. Points don't matter. The players around him carried him. If you don't see that that's fine.

I was in Savannah for a boys weekend. I ditched them to go watch the game at a Sabres/Bills bar. They were doing a raffle and I bought a good amount of tickets to support the group. Ended up winning all three raffles. They asked me if I was coming back from Florida to watch the game there Monday lol.

The Peace Bridge is that way

Do we think most Habs fans would take the Peace Bridge? I usually drive through NYS to Montreal. I guess they could be from Ontario but I’ve been hearing a lot of French

Well I agree you have to build around them but it's that old definition of what is the "core". For me it just means the guys I would not trade. Period. From what I've seen in the playoffs I'd be fine with trading Thompson (or Norris but that one I think is next to impossible). To be clear not giving him away, his goals help you get to the playoffs even if he's not good in the playoffs but for the right deal sure. The 4 guys I mentioned are just my untouchables.

You are way, way off on both Tage and Norris.

Tage at $7.14M for four more years playing RW would be one of the best value contracts in the league. As much as we would all agree he has struggled in some of the playoff games, he is one of the top scorers in this years playoffs.

And Norris would be very easy to move if they so desired.

The Sabres Gameday Media Availability is at the Marriott Harborcenter tomorrow. I wonder if the team Is staying there tonight.

I remember Lindy did something similar with the 1999 Cup Final

it's still afterglow Sunday for me. I m so PROUD of our men and their achievement last night.

I still think tomorrows game will be a very tough dub. We have momentum  and will Dobes be the same wall goalie he has been in the past or are we in his head now.

Either way I think the end result will depend on goaltending as the major factor. One or Both will shine and it could be a low scoring event. Or Not. we'll soon see.

The Sabres fan base will be LIT and we want to keep it that way. Demoralize and embarrass the Habs AND their fans who travel to Our crib. in utter defeat.

One thing I do know is win or lose this team has shocked the world and the future is bright. It's a run for the ages already. No matter what happens I wear my Sabres gear PROUDLY

you fans here are the bomb hot diggety this place is rad AF

GO SABRES

I wasn’t in that club, I’m not a draft follower, I saw him in the summer camp at Harbor Center for prospects.   He stood out by a lot.

Lindy said they were staying at a hotel, but didn’t say which one. Marriott Harborcenter must be it then.

Watched nearly all his Amerks games this season in addition to all his games with the Sabres. Nobody I know who has seen the same is surprised by his performance thus far.

I hope not.  It might lead a Habs fan to pull the fire alarm at 3 AM there.

Well if you are right and Norris is easy to move, great, move him. I don't think it's that easy.

As for Tage, that's a fine contract for a regular season player but playoff no shows don't win you Stanley Cups. He has cost us many goals against. He has 15 points but is only +1 so what does that tell you? If we had some great PP that might explain it but we don't. It tells us he's been on the ice for a lot of goals against. Too many mistakes. Too many giveaways. If he's your core, playing that way, you won't win the Cup period.

Actually, the way this works, if he’s plus anything in the playoffs, you scored more than you’ve given up which means you win which means you win the Cup.

Obviously, that’s very simplistic but the reality is, teams know that elite offensive talent, however flawed, win more games than their miscues lose. It might drive coaches crazy but it’s simple math.

There is no doubt that he has his defensive shortcomings, especially when playing center, but you need guys like him to win.

It’s also likely he was some degree of a broken wrist which is hampering his abilities.

In closing, the playoffs are hard, it’s not supposed to be easy. Individual players rarely dominate.

Well if leading the team in scoring and being plus 1 is bad then a lot of star players are bad and worse.  I looked at our opponents and what I see is interesting

Pasternak had 7 points in 6 games and was -7 playing in front of a Vezina trophy finalist.  How many teams would want him?  Most teams I would say.

How about Montreal?   They have a great first line, right?.   Suzuki is -5, Slafkovsky is -8, and Caufield is -7.

Tage had a few bad games where he turned over the puck and took penalties.  He is not alone in making mistakes or in making good plays.   The best players play a lot of minutes and they play most of them against other great players.

Thank you for pointing that out your holiness. Clearly your opinion is the only one that counts oh great one.
