gilbert11 Posted May 10 Report Posted May 10 What was the NHL thinking having Carolina/Philly playing 2 games before Buffalo/Mtl series started? Now with the Carolina sweep, they’re done before Buffalo series plays game 3. If this series goes 7 games, Game 7 is scheduled for the 18th. Earliest they’d start Conf Finals would be the 20th. That would be 10 days off for Carolina. 3 1 1 Quote

They've been giving teams 2 days off before starting their next series and really expect they'd continue to do that. So, the Canes might have 11 days off before facing the Sabres. Should be good and rusty by then; just how we like 'em. 😉 Quote

tom webster Posted May 10 Report Posted May 10 First, as Spndnchz, said TV is involved Second, arena availability is involved Third, sweeps played a part In 2005/2006, Buffalo had seven days off, Carolina six before their series. Till this day I haven’t seen any data indicating if a long break is good or bad for a team. It’s really not a big deal. I know a lot of people like to blame the NHL but they are dealing with a lot of unknown variables. 1 Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted May 10 Report Posted May 10 They seem to have gone all NBA and starting the next round as soon as possible even if other series in the previous round are not done. 2 Quote

PromoTheRobot Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 I didn't think it will affect Montreal too much. Quote

Can 2 teams schedule a scrimmage against each other during the season/playoffs? I would think it would be against the CBA to do that? Quote

But then it occurs to me that they probably plan to play each other in the final, and don't want to share their secrets, so never mind. Quote
