Popular Post SabresBaltimore Posted May 8 Popular Post Report Posted May 8 I think winning this one is really important. In the first round we started out sluggish in both games 1 and 2. We rallied in the 3rd period in both games. It worked in game 1, but not game 2. I think the emotion in those games were crazy high after such a long drought (first sabres playoff game/win) and some of that emotion probably made it harder to focus in both games, but especially game 2 after the comeback win. We started out strong in game 1 of this series and there were times where we were on our heels (we looked especially lethargic to start the 3rd period) but overall we played a much better home game than the previous 3. Now we really need to come out and do it again. The benefit of finishing top of the division is our home ice "advantage". It's great we wer able to sweep Boston on the road, but playing in Montreal is going to be a whole different level. If we can go in there with a 2-0 lead and (ideally) steal a game to return home 3-1, that will be huge. But it starts with how we play tonight. Montreal is going to come out more focused after a bit of time. They haven't been home since game 6 of the last round, but they've been in Buffalo for a few days. 10 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Sabres need to come out hard and fast against a Montreal team I think we can beat. Lets go Buffalo. 3 2 1 Quote
FrenchConnection44 Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Come out strong. The nice thing is we won game one without really playing our best hockey. So Lindy had plenty to correct and improve upon. Play strong and fast from the start. Esp be strong with the stick work (with and without the puck on D). Irritate these guys. An early goal or two like the other night would be great to just keep instilling a lack of confidence in Dobes. 5 Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Massive game. Win and you can put the Habs on the ropes. Lose, they have all the momentum going home. 1 1 Quote
Peace Frog Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 We're going to need a better effort than what we saw in game 1. What I mean by that is two of our goals were on the PP, which has been abysmal for months. I'm not counting on any in tonight's game which means, we need better 5 on 5 play from our first line. We need the Hab-owning Tage on the ice tonight. 2 1 Quote

Always wondered what Miro Satan would've looked like in blue, white, and red. Guess now we know. And guess we also know why he was passed over for the Olympic team. 5 2 2 Quote
SwampD Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 In game one, the hands on both teams really stood out. I think these two teams could play ping pong with their sticks and it would be a great game. Going to watch for that again tonight. Man, Montreal has been getting some ridiculous goals. I would say puck luck, but I think it goes back to how good their hands are. Can’t wait for tonight. Just win. 5 Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 * I hope Jack Quinn finds the back of the net tonight. He really found his game last game. * Love how we scored four goals but the top line didn't score. * It really looks so far we are better in goal than they are. How did they shut down Tampa so well? * I was really impressed with Kozak last game. Speed, toughness and an attack mentality, love it. I hope he doesn't sit, but i get it if he does. * Go Sabres! 8 1 Quote
LETSTUCHINGO Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 HUGE game, tIme for our studs to make their presence known! Tage with a hatty, Tuch with 2 apples, and Dahls with a goal! LET'S TUCHIN GO!!!! 6 Quote
dudacek Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 (edited) We were visibly better in game 1, but nobody including me seems to believe that was a true representation of the gap between teams. Time to prove the hockey world wrong. Time for some rolling on the river. Edited May 8 by dudacek 9 Quote

Went back to the NHL Hitz days on the Nintendo GameCube. 🍺🤣 Quote

I love the talking heads who still say Mon, TB, Bos etc. would all beat the Sabres and that we have zero chance against Carolina even if we somehow beat Montreal. They say all this despite the Sabres having the best record in hockey since Dec by 7 pts, winning the Atlantic, going 3-0-1 against TB, going 2-1 against Montreal in Jan. They continue at act like the Sabres are some fluke. Enough! Time to beat the crap out of Montreal, go up 2-0 and take away their will. Edited May 8 by GASabresIUFAN 5 2 Quote
dudacek Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 How many times has Lindy shuffled the lineup after a win? Quote
