Great offensive upside at the AHL level and awful in his own zone. RjJo didn’t have a great year, but was getting hot close to the end of the year and then he got hurt. Like you said, there aren’t any immediate reinforcements in ROC right now. I don't watch any Rochester games and would like your (or anyone's else's) opinion on Ryan Johnson. The few times I saw him with Buffalo I thought he had good hockey instincts and could be an adequate puck moving third pairing player. I don't think that Ruff is very much enamored with him. It seems that eventually he is going to be moved in a package deal. Quote

Jarmo has a minimum requirement when it comes to physicality... Helenius and Kulich have it, Östlund does not. Norris I expect to be moved as well, perhaps part of a deal with Östlund and Mrtka for a center. I think you may be right on this. Östlund will probably be more sought after than Kulich due to his health issue. If Thomas comes to Buffalo for Norris, Östlund, and a #1 that would not surprise me - I do not see any need to throw in Mrkta. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted June 3 Author Report Posted June 3 https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/buffalo-sabres-konsta-helenius-noah-Östlund-jiri-kulich ‘They’re just going to take over’ Helenius, Östlund and Kulich have followed similar paths to this point. Early professional experience in their European homelands. Drafted by Buffalo in the first round. Developed in Rochester and acclimated to North American hockey under coaches like Michael Leone and Vinny Prospal. They’ve each quickly become impact players in the NHL, and they’re major parts of why, after this special 2025-26 season, things should continue trending upward for the Sabres. “It seems like all those young guys are gamers, which excites me,” captain Rasmus Dahlin said. “They have that competitive edge to their game. They’re not afraid to get into dirty areas. They’re unbelievable teammates, no egos. I can’t be more happy with what we’ve drafted here, because they fit right in, and they elevate us as a team. “All those guys are going to be huge parts of the team. They’re just going to take over, actually.” 1 Quote
