OverPowerYou Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 Where can I find the cheapest parking near Canalside? What are the chances I can buy a ticket 15 minutes before the game as well ? Quote

PASabreFan Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 I am pretty calm. Maybe not Taro T before Game 6 but close. I feel like the Sabres are in a nice spot at the moment. Got some rest but not too much. Confidence after winning a round, and I think they'll handle the home hoopla better. Montreal would seem ripe for a little letdown. 3 3 Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted May 6 Report Posted May 6 16 minutes ago, OverPowerYou said: Where can I find the cheapest parking near Canalside? What are the chances I can buy a ticket 15 minutes before the game as well ? I would recommend parking at the Allen Metro stop and riding the Metro in. Super cheap. Since you’re already outside at Canalside, it’ll be easy out back on the Metro before the arena crowd exits. If you’re going to the game and not the viewing party, all bets are off. I’ve seen tickets available last minute, but prices are elevated. Parking strategy depends on the direction of your exit. You can find free parking near Resurgence, but it’s a hike. If you’re very early, try Seneca Buffalo Creek casino outdoor lot…it is free because they’re assuming you’re there to gamble. That’s easier out than most other spots if you’re headed in that direction. Key Bank parking garage and surface lots are pre-pay and may be sold out already. Quote

The NHL can just never admit they were wrong on this. Teams like the Sabres, Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Rangers, etc.. should always be wearing white at home. 4 1 Quote

You'll be able to find street parking (that's my plan, I'll be pregaming at big ditch or a nearby watering hole). Buffalonians are allergic to walking more than 5 minutes. This will be my first playoff game since May 10th 2001, when Kasparitis ended the Sabres season in OT of game 7 when he beat Hasek with an absolute muffin. I've been trying to stay composed all day but I'm starting to get AMPED. LETS GO SABRES! 5 2 Quote

While I agree with your post generally, this line here is a full-stop. I am guilty of this mindset with the following revision: "Buffalonians are allergic to walking more than 5 minutes in sub 20-degree temps, with wind off the lake, walking over ice, in slush, and through snow mounds." Again, guilty of the above. However, in Spring, a half-mile+ walk is totally fine. I haven't utilized the train enough simply because most games are on a work day, but this is by far the best idea if you can pull off the timing. Quote

I don't think I'm being overconfident, but I just get the sense that the Habs are looking over at the Sabres and trying to figure out how they can possibly beat them. If the Sabres take Jarmo's words to heart and make sure the Canadiens don't outwork them, the Sabres will win. 1 Quote

Here in Fort Worth, about the only thing I'll ride the train for is to get to a Sabres-Stars game or to go to the airport. It's about an hour train ride (typically longer by car due to traffic and parking) and the train station is right next to the AAC parking garage. Quote

It means nothing. Quinn hasn't been great so far but maybe in a faster game both ways he will do something. Maybe. I don't expect much scoring from McLeod. Just good D and PK. If he plays even I'm happy. Zucker I hope gives us his all. Veteran on a cup run so he should. This series is dead even. It rests on the goalies, on who goes to the net and gets greasier, on the PP and PK differences, on who can shut down the other guy better (Caufield/Thompson) and on which youngest guys are best )Doan, Benson, Slafkovshy, Demidov) and so forth. Details and discipline. Initiate and don't retaliate. They already know what it takes, now they have to deliver. I think they will. 1 1 Quote

If its below zero and windy I'm probably staying at home and not doing anything. Thank goodness we have this beautiful May weather tonight. Agree on the timing, these 7pm starts are waayyyy too early IMO. Our plan is to park around Big Ditch, and see how many beers we can polish off while shoving wings down our face before heading down to the rink via the train. Quote

This should be a very exciting matchup with two young, fast, and up and coming teams already banging heads in the playoffs. It is going to be a great rivalry for years to come! That said, they cannot match our physicality!! The Sabres need to continue to play a heavy game, back/forechecking, playing with speed and they need to SHOOT DA PUCK! Let's keep our BIG DOGS rolling with everyone doing their part and send these Pepe Le Pew princesses golfing! Really fired up today, going to be hard to stay focused at work! In my mind....I'm already home from work right now. 1 Quote
