Really fired up today, going to be hard to stay focused at work! This should be a very exciting matchup with two young, fast, and up and coming teams already banging heads in the playoffs. It is going to be a great rivalry for years to come! That said, they cannot match our physicality!! The Sabres need to continue to play a heavy game, back/forechecking, playing with speed and they need to SHOOT DA PUCK! Let's keep our BIG DOGS rolling with everyone doing their part and send these Pepe Le Pew princesses golfing!

I am so much less nervous about this series than the last one. This is a coin flip and if Buffalo loses, they made a mark. It wasn't a...hey we made the playoffs - weeee. They took another step and proved they can hang. I fully expect 7 games and really hope they can get the first win out of the way tonight.

We could lose in the playoffs, just not to Boston, and not in the first round.

Interesting stat:

To me this is where the series will be won or lost: the transition game of the Sabres top 4 overcoming Montreal’s forecheck, and the Sabres hounds disrupting Montreal’s breakout.

Slavkovsky said the Habs plan to attack the “risk” in Buffalo’s game with quick counters.

It’s up to Krebs and crew to prevent that from happening.

That is true.  But will be very disappointed if they don't make it to at least the 3rd round.

IMHO, though these teams are close and they play each other very well, the Sabres are a smidge better.  And they become considerably better if they end up with a series where the refs put away their whistles.

Losing a series where you're the marginally better team would seem to be a lost opportunity.

Maybe I should have put it differently. I will be less angry losing to Montreal in the second round (I don’t think that that will happen) than losing to Boston in the first round.

At the very least, we proved we aren't fakes and chokers. We washed ourselves clean of the stench of the last 14 years with the Bruins series win. 

If we win this series, we're now back to the 05-06/06-07 teams, which we were so excited for back then.
