Like Canadian?

I was reared on Rick's Kuh Nay Dee ANN or EN.

I also heard some French dude say Kah Nah JUH once.

I can help here but you'll have to buy my book, How to Speak Like an A$$hole in 7 days.

Kah nah dee Yen   I think is it but that's close.

There's no way that 2nd syllable is right.  I thought the question was all on the last part.  Nay all the way.  Though the horrid French Canadian accent will likely differ.

Well, it's the French Canadien spelling of Canadian that's being used to question how to pronounce it.  So, @PerreaultForever's pronunciation seems to be the closest to correct of the suggestions so far.

It is, I've heard it a million times. I used to live in Ottawa for a while and used to go into K-beck all the time. The way they say it the first part is slower and the second part is faster making it like 3 syllables instead of 4. It's not really a question at the end more of a satisfaction or glee feel to it. Pride comes through. french is a lovely language to listen to tbh.

Oh and Letterkenny had it right. When they say TD bank it does sound like tittybank.

Practice saying it as "cah-nah-dee-ain" but to pronounce it correctly you should do it as you're washing down a mouthful of poutine with a double gulp of an ice-cold Tim Hortons iced capp topped with caramel drizzle.

Canadian is the English word. I would say it as Kah-nay-dee-en for the English pronunciation.

Canadien is the French word. I would say it as Ka-na-dee-yain (not perfect but close) for the French pronunciation. Most English speakers pronounce it in the English way.

@PASabreFan heard it in French as Ka-na-juh which I hear Acadians (French from the Maritime provinces) say. Some people from France pronounce it close to that as well. Some well educated Quebecers try to mimic the France accent as well. There is sometimes the hint of an n after the ‘juh’.

You are using a hard Buffalo “ay”, it is a French “ah”.
