And the other interesting thing about that season was that all 3 of Buffalo, the Habs, and Filly ended the year with 113 points.  Filly was considered the top team, Buffalo the 2nd, and the Habs the 3rd.  But, the way that season and subsequent seasons played out, had any of the 3 been able to get 1 point ahead of the other 2 that team would likely have won the SC that year because Buffalo could not win in Filly, Buffalo could and did beat the Habs, and the Phlyers tended to have fits with the Habs.  

So, as it was, Buffalo eliminated the Habs, and then Filly beat the Sabres.  But if the Sabres had found 1 more point that year, then the Habs beat Filly and the Sabres beat the Habs.  And if the Habs instead found that extra point, Filly beats the Sabres and the Habs beat Filly.  Rock- Paper - Scissors.

Am presuming that the Sabres hang up with the Aisles wouldn't have been a thing yet, and that the Sabres would've beaten them in the Semis rather than Filly beating them then.

No.  The game that they made a big deal about her being in the suite watching was one of Dahlin's few bad games.  He, and the team, don't need to feel they need to win that particular game "for her."  Let Ras and Carolina keep doing whatever it is that they're doing without making the game more than it is.  My 2 cents.

I think it was also reported that she didn't even want the attention she got upon her return. She seems the shy type.
