Party In The Plaza/Canalside

I’ll be staying in Buffalo this week for a wedding. I’ve never been to the Party In The Plaza before the game and then the Canalside viewing event. What should I expect from both? Tell me and everyone else who hasn’t experienced it what to expect and some tidbits. I can’t get tickets to the game but I plan on being outside.

I'll try to add value here. There is a checkpoint to get in, which does give some comfort. Also, ample porta potties. Two tidbits lol.
