French Collection Posted May 3 Report Posted May 3 I find with injuries they tend to under promise and over deliver. The information is kept close to the vest so the opposition knows as little as possible. An early return can help team morale, energize the fanbase and surprise the other team. 2 1 Quote

By definition, losing a player that fulfills a role that nobody else does and that is a critical one on the team cannot make them stronger, it can only make them weaker. They also lost games precisely because of not having what he brings to the team. Edited May 3 by Big Guava Quote

Sabres went 26/59 (44%) in faceoffs in game 6 yet dominated the bruins for long stretches. I certainly don’t want any injuries (obviously) but it’s naive to think we won’t, especially come playoffs when it gets chippy and everyone finishes their checks. Montreal is going 7 with Tampa missing their top pairing defenseman. Boston lost Arvidson. Next man up. Let’s ***** go!!!! 1 1 Quote

And, on the full spectrum of injuries to have, having your 4C and a semi-redundant when all are healthy middle 6F while not at the absolute "if somebody has to be injured let it be that guy" end of the spectrum; they're fairly close. Everybody has injuries at this point of the season. And everybody has guys playing through things. All things considered, they're fairly healthy finally. 3 2 Quote

I'm asking which game specifically did they lose because he was out? And while I love Carrick, he his career FO% is 52.2% and this year was 57.3%, although I couldn't see what his splits were with the Rangers and with the Sabres. 2 Quote
zow2 Posted May 3 Report Posted May 3 Carrick just seems like a max effort guy with some stick skills and can win his share of faceoffs. Wish he was back. What the heck happened to him in that fight? it was such a meaningless scuffle and not worth it. 2 Quote

Taro T Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Just now, Dude said: He fell hard to the ice. That's how I believe he got injured. He didn't just fall hard, but the arm was extended awkwardly as he fell. It was a freak play, but yeah would definitely say it was the fall that messed up the arm. 1 Quote

Punch Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Trust Bulldog's friend of a friend, he implied as much on Friday. Then again, we're still waiting on the news to be good. I'm optimistic though, I can't imagine they'd restore his dressing stall unless they had an inkling. 1 1 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Getting Carrick at 80% would be better than having Kozak centre that 4th line. I still worry about him taking faceoffs. 2 Quote
zow2 Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 In 24 hours how does one go from, "he's out for the 2nd round" to ok, he's progressing and could be at practice tomorrow and play. 2 Quote
LETSTUCHINGO Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 Given what Lindy has already stated, this can only be a positive! I for one am praying it is true and his Dr releases him! Quote
