Probably because there is no urgency to figure out exactly how long his suspension will be because the Bruins & Cryin' Charlie's next game isn't until, checks notes, sometime in the 1st week in October whereas Benson's and the Sabres next game is tonight.  😉

In person is a minimum of 6 games. There’s no rush to get it done.

I think it is more accurate to say, in person maximum is more than 5 games.  I believe they can still rule 5 games or less in an in person meeting.

Historically, they haven’t done 5 or less though.
