gregmo Posted May 3 Report Posted May 3 Given that Tampa still has the second best odds in the East, I wouldn't be disappointed if Montreal knocked them out. Quote
BCAS Baritone Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 I thought Tampa dominated tonight, so having Montreal steal one like that, I'm glad it's not Tampa. Plus if we do make it to Round 3, we will almost certainly be healthier than if we faced the Lightning. It's two fast teams that play the same style. Should be a very exciting series. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted May 4 Report Posted May 4 I'm excited for Montreal vs Buffalo. I think we are the better team overall. I think our D is better, we have an slight edge in goal and we have significantly better depth. That said Hutson is a magician, Suzuki is a great playmaker and Caufield has a incredible nose for the net. When I look at Montreal's playoff performance against TB, I was shocked to see all of their top player was negative in +/- heading into tonight's game with Suzuki, Caufield, and Slafkovsky each -5. Their top players poor performance in their own zone looks like an Achille's Heel that the Sabres can exploit. The Sabres might also be able to exploit their size advantage over Montreal. The Sabres have just as much speed to burn as the Habs, but are much bigger as a team. Benson, Kozak and Zucker are the only Sabres regulars under 6 feet, but most of Montreal's star players, Hutson, Caufield, and Suzuki are under 6 feet. They also have 3 other regulars under 6 feet. I wonder if that size dis-advantage hurt Montreal against TB and was a major factor in their negative +/-. Quote
